We don’t call anyone stupid here. “Them’s fightin’ words”.Are you seriously trying to say Churches/Religion don’t pull their weight in society ? You can’t be that jaded or stupid.
It’s shocking that you are the face of a non profit organization if you can’t grasp that concept.
Well...when the mayor of Uvalde calls him a "sick son of a bitch" for his political stunt...Does it hurt or help his standing?
They don't work, but if it makes others feel better...I'm not against it.If the opportunity arises to “fund” vs tax, don’t count my church out as they do support the community beyond bake sales and words.
And good on you that you’d fund it too. My memory is short and there’s a lot of pages on this thread but I thought you were saying guarding schools wouldn’t work anyway.
Ummm...NO!Funding should come from arms manufacturers and sales.
Time will tell. I am sure that mayor has to come to terms what happened under their leadership. Has to be tough.Well...when the mayor of Uvalde calls him a "sick son of a bitch" for his political stunt...
I don't think it will be quick, I think it would take people rekindling community values at home, and then voting in those values. I do not think it would work the opposite way where X political or social influencer starts some sort of movement.I agree 100% we just need to figure out how to make the 2nd paragraph happen. Seems like we’re moving the other direction.
It’s completely unfathomableAgreed.
Ya let’s make sure this thread doesn’t need locked.
Up to you all.
My heart is broken for those kids and their families.

TaUmmm...NO!
School funding are local, county and state responsibilities. They can raise the funds how they best see fit. One size does not fit all...
Responsibilities should match the level of the rights. More rights, more responsibility needed.Ummm...NO!

Is it really though? This has happened more and more frequently over the years. It’s completely unfathomable
One of the cooler things I saw from our local community was then the Highlands Ranch STEM shooting happened, Michael Bennett or Jason Crow went and started some self promoting speech and the students literally ran him out of the building.Bigotry comes in all forms apparently...

Who wants to live in that type of community? All the sro's need special training and should be carrying m-4's. Two per school across the nation. $ is no object to help uke...use that $ here. 55 billion should do it easily. That is over 1 billion per state...
Who wants to live in a community that invests in protecting the lives of children?Who wants to live in that type of community?
It is to me, this particular incident especially… no part of it makes any sense and is about as evil as a human could be.Is it really though? This has happened more and more frequently over the years.
We have a sickness inside us as a country.
Plenty of blame to go around:
-Easy access to guns
-Lack of firearms training/safety instruction
-Underfunded schools
-Lack of mental healthcare
-In person social interaction dwindling due to social media (and covid)
-Lack of parenting and 2 parent households
-Social media cesspools that let monsters like this fester and become emboldened by others like them, living inside their own echo chamber of hate
