I can’t imagine why anyone would do that that, but good luckIf anyone decides to by a .350 legend, I might be interested in the barrel.
I have one, would post a picture but it is back at Beretta for warranty work
Iv got that bolt stop in my 308. Fits and works fine. Wouldn't really know it wasn't stock at allI handled a 223 at Cabelas today and thought it seemed to go the full length? It was busy and I only had a minute to take my turn fingering a rifle.
I saw this product -
Tikka Bolt Stop Adjustable
Upgrade your Tikka T3 or T3X with the Tikka Bolt Stop Adjustable. Precision-engineered from titanium, it offers 3 customizable bolt-action positions and supports extended COL for reloaders.hvha.com.au
Seems like it might address the throw length concern. Has anyone used one?
I think I'm gonna send it! Thanks for the vote of confidence guys.
It’s the cheapest option on Europtics and it uses a .223 bolt. It’s a long shot but if someone is looking to part out one for the action it’s a good option.I can’t imagine why anyone would do that that, but good luck

You done messed up A-A-Ron!Kinda having potential buyers remorse. Am a Tikka fanboy (own 3), but recently strayed and bought a 20” HB Howa mini action (.223) on sale from Brownells. Replaced the bottom metal with a BDL kit and put it in a factory HTI stock and it weighs 6.5#. Barrel is factory threaded. Haven’t shot it yet. $625 spent to date. Plan to mount a thermal on it and shoot suppressed.
The remorse set in when all the online Tikka sales promos kicked in. Have seen blued Tikka lites with 16” barrels on sale for roughly same amount as what I paid. My gunsmith charges $130 to thread. Comparison:
Weight: Tie, very close
Cost: Howa wins, $130 cheaper after Tikka threading
Stock: Tikka wins, modularity
Action length: Howa
Action function: Tikka smoother
Barrel length: Tikka for suppressor
Trigger: Tikka
Magazine: Tie. Tikka mags > Howa mags, however, will be shooting off tripod, so flush BDL better.
Accuracy: TBD, although I am predicting Tikka win. (with thermal not sure matters)
In short, have a buddy with a Howa mini build in 6.5 Grendel that was my inspiration. Really like the .223 sized action, however if I had a do over, would have probably just bought the Tikka.

I did this…..3500$ and two years later I’m reading this. Go figureI like your thought process on the Tikka. Not long ago, I was in the same boat. For your purposes, there’s really two ways to go.
1. Get the Tikka. Deal with the extra action length. They really are superb guns. A T3x in .223 is my favorite rifle to shoot.
Financially, this is the responsible choice, but I too am one of the few bothered by the one-size-fits-all action, so that brings up option two.
2. Build your dream .223 on a high quality scaled action, which means a CZ 527 or Sako L461/A1/75, and maybe a few others.
As for price, this gets real in a hurry. You’ll spend $550 to $900 on the action, another $300 to $500 on a fast-twist barrel, a smith to put it together, and $700+ on and aftermarket stock/bedding.
Is option 2 better? No, but if you’re an OCD rifle nut, it might be worth it.
PS: I’m happy as hell with my Tikka .223, but I’ll likely build a custom like I listed above when I have the funds.
God bless you my child. It is now January 11th, 2025. Is it back yet and is it fixed?I have one, would post a picture but it is back at Beretta for warranty work
You guys know if this bolt stop is useable on a lefthand action? Hoping the group buy for 223 is on and this may be nice on that.Iv got that bolt stop in my 308. Fits and works fine. Wouldn't really know it wasn't stock at all
A rail can solve most mounting issues. Also, if they went back to making 2 action lengths, a traditional .308 sized action would provide plenty of extra length for .223 length cartridges. If universal long actions are so great, why doesn’t everyone do it?Rant challenge accepted, with the bigger scopes in general use these days a short action doesn’t allow enough mounting length to adequately support the scope
Baby CZs and L461 Sakos are the worst, not to mention that their magazines are not worth shit because they are so short that they can’t accommodate decent bullets.
And if that is not enough they are not significantly lighter either
