Very good since you just bought the old irrelevant onesLooks like the 3-9s sold out. Glad I grabbed a couple on sale. My first SWFA scopes. What are the chances they come out with a Gen 2 version?

Yea thats true. The capable option would be nice for windage.
Check earlier in this thread about caps if you haven't already.Yea thats true.
Screwing a cap on is not comparable to taking a hacksaw to the turret stem and sliding a rubber cup over it. The latter works, but is very much a kludge.Check earlier in this thread about caps if you haven't already.
I really don't find the turret to protrude all that much (vs comparable scopes) and find a wrap of electrical tape to be perfectly effective for my uses where I hold wind. Sure my LRTS with pull out windage knobs is nicer but I really am not bothered by the windage on the 3-9 all that much.Screwing a cap on is not comparable to taking a hacksaw to the turret stem and sliding a rubber cup over it. I'm not saying the kludge doesn't work, only that it is not comparable to a true cap like the Gen II's have. I don't even tape mine, so can argue that even tape is not needed.I really don't find the turret to protrude all that much (vs comparable scopes) and find a wrap of electrical tape to be perfectly effective for my uses where I hold wind. I think the current SS series Gen 2 caps are stupid personally as they stick way out, I think the slimmer knob for the windage is nicer on those (again tape if concerned). If they did that style cap the didn't protrude way out they sure that would be a nice to have. The 3-9HD brass post doesn't stick out nearly as far as the SS series so it certainly seems like they could make it like that but who knows if they will. Two different manufacturers between the lines.I'm not saying the kludge doesn't work, only that it is not comparable to a true cap like the Gen II's have. My comments can only be correctly interpreted in the context of a discussion about a gen II 3-9.
