Suppressor wait times getting faster

Well, I certified today, so the wait begins.

So far, I am very impressed with the process at Capitol Armory. I bought my second ever suppressor from them when I lived in TX and it was painless, but that was before 41F and e-Forms. Now that I have moved a couple of times, I have been using SilencerShop, but the last time it took over a month from purchase to certify. With CA, I purchased on Saturday afternoon, Docusigned my paperwork yesterday afternoon and certified today. Even if it takes 3 weeks to ship it to me after approval, the overall time will be shorter than my last one with Silencer Shop and my local FFL.

I used Silencer Shop as well prior to e-file. How does the fingerprinting work with Capitol?

I was told by the shop I went through that if 4 months rolls around to contact my local US Representative and they kick it in gear. That’s the SOP for them and it’s works.

I can confirm. Contacting my representative broke loose a form 4 trust application that was months past average approval time.

I just filed an eForm 4 for a suppressor and have had it approved:

Submitted 11-2-24 at 0833
Approved 11-7-24 @ 0837
5 days flat

Last one only took 48 or so hours, the one before that about 41 hours. I guess volume is up.

I ordered from SilencerShop on Nov 26, picked it up from gun shop on Dec 15. That includes fingerprints, form 3, shipping to FFL, Form 4 approval, etc. The actual Form 4 wait on ATF approval was 3 days I believe.

This is my first silencer and I used trust.
