suppressor jail time

First time posting anything here but looking for some direction. I didn't get denied but cannot remember the term they used but said further info needed. 3 years ago when I tried to get my first silencer. Never been arrested or charged with anything. But NCIS person told me I needed to contact the state of Nevada to straighten things out. Said it could b a simple misundersatanding or stolen identity. I buy guns al the time with no issues. Cannot get in touch with anyone in the state of Nevada. I lived there two years ago 25 years ago. Some people say just re-apply because due to the fact it took 13 months to get the letter the first time I applied some said if it takes over a certain long period the system auto rejects it. Any ideas???

Thanks Rob
These links will probably help more than anything.

If you cannot make headway with them on your own, I recommend consulting an attorney who specializes in Firearms laws. In Virginia, I have consulted with a guy named John Pierce. I am sure you could find one for Nevada issues.

Submitted Dec 5th. Day 15 waiting for approval.

EDIT: Went into my dealer today and found out that on their end it appears my can was approved on the 12th. But neither me or them have received emails from the ATF that I've been approved. Quick search shows a bunch of reddit posts saying there's a known issue right now that ATF approval emails aren't being sent out. My dealer is going to call Monday and try to sort things out.

@WyldGoose Did you hear anything back from your dealer about it?

Nope. I called the ATF this morning and they told me they can’t confirm I’ve been approved/status check. They did admit that there was an “email glitch” that was resolved last Thursday, but they wouldn’t be sending additional approval emails. I told them my dealer saw my can in their “approved” files on their portal but there was no tax stamp with it. The ATF said they might have to disable pop up blockers on their computer to find it. I’m planning to relay this to my dealer tomorrow and see what happens. Pretty annoying stuff…

I’m going through this right now as well. Apparently I’m approved but never got the email and my dealer can’t open the file that should show my approved form. Very annoying.

My dealer turned off all pop-up blockers and updated his computer. My approved form popped right up. I was approved 2 days after I submitted. Filed on the 10th and approved on the 12th.

🤦🏻‍♂️
Prior to that, were you showing up in his “approved” file or did you still show as “processing”?

this is good info. I submitted everything on the 14th and haven’t heard anything. My last suppressor took 24hrs. I’ll be contacting the shop tomorrow.

His eforms website was not working very well. It was showing “in progress” on the 18th when we started looking at this. When he cleared his history and cookies on the computer he uses, it came up when he searched by approved forms but couldn’t get the form to open. Once he got the pop-up blocker turned off, it came right up.
I would have never contacted him about this but another dealer was telling me she was waiting for form 3s and they were taking forever. She called the ATF and they told her that emails weren’t going out and basically to do the same thing to her computer. Sure enough, all her form 3s were approved, and had been for a week.

I’ve already bugged my dealer about the ATF telling me about the pop up blockers and don’t use Google Chrome for a browser. Now it’s Christmas Eve and I’m about to tell em to clear their history, cookies, and restart their computer because I’m convinced my Dec 5th submission was approved a long time ago…

Ugh this is going to be a extra pain in an already painful process but I appreciate you folks sharing this info because it looks like Im going to have to join the party. Ive already bugged the crap out of my dealer but it looks like next time they’re open (29th) I get to bug them some more.

Ive been waiting on an approval since the 9th on an og65 I really wanted to get before the end of the year. Been getting anxious because I am pretty sure I read anything not approved by the 30th will be automatically denied and have to restart the process. Seriously doubt Ill get my $200 back if that happens. Haven’t had a chance to contact atf yet but Ill probably get to do that on Monday as well. What fun.

So I went in today and asked about my suppressor. They pulled up the website and after a few minutes I was told there was no new info. I asked them to humor and clear the browsing info, clear cookies and restart the computer. To my surprise they did and when we re checked, I was approved. In fact, my approved came through on the 17th. They didn’t bother to check or reach out to the ATF, even after they heard about the technical issues that the ATF was having. I’m glad I read this thread and talked to them. Now I have my suppressor I should have had a week ago……
