Curious what barrel length I should go with when cutting my tikka 223 barrel, I don’t know what suppressor to go with either or thread pitch, I’d love to have something I could use for my 300wsm as well but I know that’s a jump and that barrel is 5/8-24

You can get it threaded with a shoulder added to it can be 5/8-24 but for a 223 I wouldn't since most 223 cans are 1/2-28. I need to get one chopped too, I'm leaning towards 18" at the moment and planned on 1/2-28 but will use a 5/8 adapter on it as needed so I don't run into issues later if I want to use a 556 can that is 1/2-28.

Anything over 6mm I'd just have setup for 5/8-24. $0.02

Mine is 18 and I like it there. Good balance of length and velocity for suppressed use for me.

Lots of good general hunting use 30 cal cans out there what would play double duty well on a 223 and 300 wsm. Sico Scythe, Dead Air nomad Ti XC, OCL hydrogen S ti, LPM Mach-S ti, TBAC ultra 7 all seem to be good options. My 223 wears an ultra7. Since you're wanting a can that works with 30 cals, id just do 5/8 threads (with shoulder) and not worry about adapters.

The CAT JL is a bigger can that intrigues me for max suppression.

If my current 20” 1:8 .223 barrel wasn’t one of the most accurate barrels I’ve ever owned, I’d go with 16-18” and suppress.

I’m not chopping and threading this one, but I do have a stainless threaded 18” barrel to twist on when this one dies. It will be suppressed then.

17". 2730 with BH 77tmk. Stupid portable and fun with a AB Raptor 6 can with the 3" reflex

My 223 is much quieter out of my OCL Polonium 556 compared to my Banish 30 Gold. It's a little heavy, but it seems 223's really benefit from caliber-specific silencers. For max suppression, the PTR Vent 3 has me lusting but it's $$$$...

I have a 20" 223, but 18" would be a bit more handy. I like that extra 50fps though!

18-20” is a nice spot to be but it would really come down to what your going to use for a suppressor.

Big difference between a small and large suppressor

Iv got an ultra 7 30 cal and a 6.5 cal. I can tell a decent difference on the smaller aperture can. More apparent on a 223 it seems. The U7 6.5 dosnt leave me wanting more on the 223.

I did 16” and regret nothing.

Factory AAC 77tmk is doing 2630fps

For the distances I plan to use it there’s no issue and it is very convenient to carry
