The bitching about $18 shipping cracks me up. I paid $15 for Unknown Munnitions to ship me some rings from Post Falls to Boise. No one seems to bitch about that.

I'd venture to say SG does more business than UM, hence more bitching. The bitching about $18 shipping cracks me up. I paid $15 for Unknown Munnitions to ship me some rings from Post Falls to Boise. No one seems to bitch about that.
You are correct. It is quite possible California is less expensive to live than Bozeman these days![]()
I have not purchased from UM before because of the shipping cost...Wanted a molinator but it's already spendy. The $15 shipping pushed me over the edge to not buy it.The bitching about $18 shipping cracks me up. I paid $15 for Unknown Munnitions to ship me some rings from Post Falls to Boise. Same. I would speculate they’d see a significant bump in small accessory revenue if they would offer even a two-tiered shipping rate. Paying an extra $15.95 for a trigger spring, bolt knob, or recoil lug is quite a deterrent.I have not purchased from UM before because of the shipping cost...Wanted a molinator but it's already spendy. Vista Outdoor sold off the ammo part of the company last year.
The remaining part of the company was renamed Revelyst. Revelyst includes Stone Glacier. I think Revelyst was also sold off to a private capital investment group. The stock ticker went from $VSTO to $GEAR, and then quietly disappeared in a very short time between November 2024 and January 2025.
It wouldn't be unusual to have high turnover after a big acquisition or merger. There is probably a little bit of restructuring, maybe some frustration, perhaps layoffs.
In other words, the private equity group is liquidating the assets, pocketing the cash, and will run the business in the ground a' la Toys R Us.This is correct. Revelyst is now owned by the private equity firm Strategic Value Partners, who apparently specialize in acquiring “distressed assets”
Looks like the move is part of a restructuring/ consolidation:

Looks like vista basically got poached/taken over by competitor.
Welcome to publicity traded companies.
So…. Anyone thinking A-Aron and Kurt end up revamping Mystery Ranch…. I’m sure Batman and Superman, could work together….
Wonder how long those none competes last
Oh I forgot about yeti buy out.Yeti owns Mystery Ranch now plus Kurt and Snyder would be akin to oil and water. No chance.
April 2026. You SG fan boys will wet your undies. +\- a month.
What happens then?
Guy seemed to know about sheep hunting. wondered if he wasn't FAFO under a new userAh man, he got banned so now we'll never know...well, at least not until next year.
Was wondering if he'd jump in the saddle again or if he has plenty of other things to do with his time/money.My guess is Kurt's non-compete contract is up then and he and the original crew get back together and start a new company.
