Looking for a new pack. Something that I can use for 1-2 days and upwards of 7+ (with load shelf).

Thinking about going with the Mystery Ranch Mysterium Sawtooth 65 or Stone Glacier Sky 5900.

Anyone out there who owns either of these packs, please ruthlessly provide pros and cons

I looked long and hard at the stone glacier 5900. Went with the 6900 and really glad I did. The two side pockets are really nice as well as the center zip access. No more rooting through my whole pack to get to stuff in middle /bottom of main bag. I keep rain gear ,cook kit and other essentilals in the pockets . Way easier to put a bigger bag in bivy mode for day hunts than it is to try to cram in stuff in a smaller pack. Your gear won't change much for a longer hunt but you will appeciate the extra volume for more food. Also comes in real handy if you kill something.

Appreciate the insight. Say the side pockets are at full capacity, do you have any touble putting anything in the sleeves on either side (e.g. rifle, tripod, etc)?

I had the sawtooth and found that when it was loaded with weight it wanted to pull backwards. I liked the organization of it and when unloaded it was great, but ultimately it was uncomfortable when loaded so I sold it.

I replaced it with an xcurve sg solo and it’s a night and day difference. It packs great and fits me perfect. I’ve adjusted my packing and organization to work with the pocket layout and found that it works well for me. One thing I noticed is that adjusting the straps to go from pack mode to meat haul mode was a pain so I just leave it in meat haul mode and cinch it all down. I’m probably doing it wrong but I just found it easier to always leave it like that
