Starlink T-Mobile Goes Live... Death of the InReach?

I did a loop from Anchorage to McCarthy to Valdez to Seward a couple of weeks ago and worked flawlessly. Basically just like using the towers. I have T-Mobile and iphone 17.

Thank you! Great info.

Has anyone that doesn’t have t mobile used it? Says we can sign up for it. Just wondering.

I just use visible from Verizon and was able to sign up for it. I believe it will be $10/month after 90 days free. Haven’t been able to use it yet as I’m in a pretty covered area for cell service.

Thanks. What’s visible?

I was able to get the T-satellite service on my Verizon phone finally. I just contacted them through their website chat feature, and the guy got me set up. $10/month with the auto pay and its up and running. Ill still pack my inreach in case, but seems to work just fine so far. Moment I left service, i got the text from my Tmobile side saying Im on starlink...it gives you a different phone number when you have 2 E-sim cards, so if you are going to text someone, might just need to let them know its you, cause it most likely wont show your normal verizon number

Have you had a chance to check how well the service works in the backcountry?

Has anyone tested this out in NWT? I plan on bringing my Garmin, but also signed up for this service as well and curious to know if it works there.

Will add my experience here running a new android samsung A36 and using Google Messages (some of what you can send/receive is app specific).

I was in Colorado for 5 days elk hunting and connected to TSat for most of it. The country was a mix between open sage, aspen and some pine. Nothing too steep or nasty except down in a few ravines.
  • In general, tsat was connected most of the time. A couple times I'd see it searching for a satellite but would generally connect in no more than 30 seconds.
  • Text messages appeared to be sent in a few seconds. Some exchanges with my wife happened within seconds back and forth
  • I was able to send and receive images
  • I then got a short video from my father-in-law...blew my mind! Had no idea video could come through!
Overall I was super impressed.
