My wife also didn't hunt till after we got together but now I think she wants to go as much or more then me. Cold , nasty ,wet blowing or hot and dry she never complains. She also kills more animal then I do because I hunt harder and smarter to make sure she does. Ive killed stuff my whole life so she has a lot of catching up to do. If I knew how to post pictures I would because this last hunting season she killed a big Barbary sheep and a big oryx and a big mule deer. My buddy the taxidermist bought his self a new truck.

I for one am single and have narrowed my search to a woman that meets the criteria as a hunter. I want to be on the same page as far as vacation time and money spent on stuff we both enjoy. I am still looking.. after saying that! But I believe the best person to hunt with would be one that you communicate with on a regular basis. You know each other so well that you understand the hand motions and emotion in someones face when you just glance at that person. My view on it and still looking! Bob.

Dare I suggest a thread for singles, 'rokslide dating thread' haha

My wife hates hunting, but mildly supports my habit since she recognizes it as the best, most ethical way for me to put meat in the freezer. She is borderline vegetarian, mostly because she disagrees with the way animals are treated at many commercial farms. However, she won't eat anything I kill because she has seen it dead.....go figure that one out.

Anyway, I'm fairly content that she does not like to hunt. I enjoy hunting by myself 90% of the time anyway, since it is my opportunity to get away from it all. Ideally she would be more supportive of the lifestyle and be a better cook, but you can't have it all. lol.

I have been hunting with my wife for quite a while now. We have had some incredible memories together. Just be careful, she might give you some good competition!

My wife doesn't want to hunt any more than I want her to. Love my wife, love spending time with her but hunting is something I do primarily alone. Always been a bit of a loner and that doesn't always fit well in a marriage. Hunting let's me get that out of my system. It works for us

I think that is the main thing....whatever works for that couple. My wife and I are loners in that we are apart every 2 weeks for 2 weeks straight so our time together we have we pretty much want to do most activities together cause we are over our alone time by that point, so her and I get out and hunt together from time to time as well.

I was lucky in finding a gal that loves the outdoors. My wife loves hunt and grew up hunting whitetails in SD. Now that we have lived in AK for almost 9 years she has gotten into everything that hunting the state offers. My wife loves to go hunting and ridicules me if I go with the "guys", ha. I also love the fact that she is more than willing to get her hands dirty and will dive right in with processing the animal in the field and after which is a huge help when trying to take care of a moose. The hard part that I have found is that when you add a kid or two, time in the woods with your spouse diminishes greatly much to her dismay. I have 3 yoa and another on the way this summer. I definitely get the stink eye when I start planning for the fall as she knows she will likely not be able to go on the annual sheep hunt, Once the kids get older though it will be a family excursion for sure!

My wife use to go with me all the time before we had 4 kids, moved out of state with no family to help watch the little ones and she decided to go to college. She has been talking more about getting back into it and has started to shoot her recurve here and there. I liked hunting with her and hope she really puts in the effort to hunt this year.

I've hunted with a few girls and while I'm currently single and my ex was tougher than every guy I've ever hunted with, I still feel the same way you do Littlebuf. I am turning more into a hunter that likes to do my own thing and go my own way whenever and however I want. I enjoy the backcountry more solo than I ever have.

Now as far as something like fishing or turkey hunting or shooting stuff then yeah you bet she's more than welcome to go and she'll be priority #1...

My wife has been my backcountry elk hunting partner for the past 5 seasons. She was always a camper/hiker, I got her into archery, then deer hunting, and now the backcountry hunting. She always looks forward to our hunts.

My wife was a city girl. Grew up in Racine between Milwaukee and Chicago. When we met she didnt even know anyone that hunted or fished. She started shooting archery and then fishing. Soon she took her first deer with a gun, a doe on a late hunt. She bow hunted back in WI for a few seasons but did not connect. We moved to Utah to hunt, hike, and generally explore as much as we could. She took her first but in 2012. Now I want her to draw tags way more than I want to draw them. I love hunting with her.

You guys have see a couple pics I have posted of when my wife hunts with me... rather when we hunt for her.... She is by no means a seasoned outdoorsman, but she is always trying to learn and improve. She has only hunted three years total, but has gotten something each year and currently has a bigger elk than I do. But she also has has to sleep with the guide. :)

Seriously though, she puts the time in walking around with me and and practicing shooting and we have a great time together.. She will push her self but I also know that once she hits her limit, she is physically DONE. So I keep that in mind. But at the same time, I also get to spend time hunting "for me". She doesn't go and she is fine with that. So that seems to be a good balance and work for us.

Best hunting partner I've got for sure. Doubles the chance of a good tag in the house...but also doubles the $$$$$ ;)
