solo and 2 person hot tent

Looking to upgrade my backcountry tent set up. I've been eyeing the Kifaru Sawtooth for a while but recently have looked at Seek outside as well. I do mostly solo trips in the backcountry, but my wife may start joining me at times and my son is getting older and will be joining in a couple years. with that being said I'm hoping to find something light enough to carry solo but will comfortably hold 2 people and can fit a stove. I'll be carrying this whole set up when they come out with me so lightweight is important. I will sacrifice some weight though for durability and comfort.

any suggestions or comments on experience with any tents you have used would be greatly appreciated.

I have been happy with my SO cimarron and stove. Not very heavy and fits 2 people great. I have a ton of space when solo. The only downside would be that 2 people is the max. So if you expect to have more you would need another option.

I'll second the Cimarron setup. Great for two people, massive for one, and packs down to a very impressive size. The stove is going to be bulky and awkward packed though.

is there enough room in the cimarron with the stove for 2 people and their gear as well?

Cimmaron great for two once you add a pile of wood and gear it gets tight but doable . Been running both versions of cimmaron for 4 yrs and just picked up a red cliff for bigger groups.

I think so, but most people that I see running a SO look like they unload their entire packs in them so I guess it kind of depends on how much you want to use the inside of the tent to “live in” so to speak, or to literally just store a pack and gun that would otherwise fit in a small tent vestibule. I'd encourage you to look at other options in addition to Seek Outside. There are several pyramid choices in that price range. A 9x9 or 10x10 from oware would work great. Dave might be able to sew a stove jack for you, or you could do it yourself or have someone else do it. I believe Argali has tents now. Bearpaw is a crapshoot for quality control but when he's good he's good (when he's bad - ooo boy). Even a Black Diamond Mega Light or MSR mid with a stove jack could work for two. Neither would be a palace but they'd work.

Take into account weather and ability to dry gear.

Its those cold rainy trips where the extra space, you thought you may not need is a game changer.

Maybe checkout lite outdoors.
I have the Plateau 5. It's a palace for 2 with a stove and have had 3 with a stove but wouldn't hurt to try the isola 4 for a single or 2 with a stove.
The stove is the cylinder style but super lightweight and all in when I bought my setup I was half the price of a redcliff with same options.
Have used it for 2 years now and the tent is quality and held up fine with no issues. I'm close to burning out my stove but that's with fires ripping all night in below zero temps I can only expect it to last so long. therehttps://www.liteoutdoors.com/product-category/tents-tarps/

I really like the new Peaks I saw at the show but it's smaller then my lite outdoors and the same weight.
The tent looked legit though and with the extra supports looked like it would do better in wind and also offer more hanging space to dry out gear.
