I’ve been skeptical of e-bikes for this purpose only based on the fact or question of maintenance/battery longevity. I ride a 1993 Honda XR250 for the sole purpose of hunting and I can still finds parts with little problem and if I’m running multiple trips shuttling gear or packing meat out I can top off with gas in 2 minutes and continue on.
I considered the e-bike thing recently but I don’t want to have to be math’n in my head hoping I can make it from A to B multiple times if need be.
I forced myself into a routine of non-ethanol gas with stabilizers and then draining the tank and carb after the season is over. My lawn equipment also thanked me for that change. I suppose there isn’t a simple button on the subject.Funny, I switched to an e-bike because the dirt bike sat so much I found the gas breaking down was more of a maintenance issue.
Are you sure he'll be thanking you? That is a heavy slow bike with ancient technology. There are a lot of way better options IMO.Yamaha TW200, thank me later

Well, a wheeler or small sxs would be best for skid roads, but with bikes it's a safe assumption that he'll get into single track sooner or later. At some point ya gotta get up on the pegs and do some riding. To be fair you just described an XR as well
That oughta ruffle a few feathers
I do think that for cruising up old skid roads like the OP stated he was wanting to do. A guy could pretty much use damn near anything.
Here's to old technology! I have an 86 XR200. It will go far more places than I can ride it.To be fair you just described an XR as well
