I got to be somewhere between que sera sera and F it. Makes life easier.

Im not super afraid of anything. I dont care for heights but I will do them. You wont catch me rock climbing though.

I dislike spiders and centipedes, but not fear, more of a don't want them on me type thing.

The only thing that really makes my skin crawl is thinking about canthotomies, episiotomies, or snipping through the web between the fingers or toes. But, that is getting milder because I keep doing it.

Some of these depend on what is ment by fear. I guess I fear many things in the take measures to prevent them way, but phobias (irrational fears) are something I just cannot comprehend. The closest I get is trying to make myself jump from hight into water, looking down 30+ feet and my body no longer wants to respond to my will to jump. Still done it, but takes some work because I'm weak.

None of the traditional ones get to me too bad, although I have a healthy respect for things that will hurt/kill. However, with that said, I have become more afraid of not being home to help if something bad were to happen. I travel a lot for work, so I have come to believe it could happen, and it scares me.

Genuine question on this one. Do you really feel like you are in more control of your safety with everyone on the road more so than on a plane?
I would have no problem with flying if I was flying the plane, if that answers your question.

I can control my speed, times of travel, route of travel, maintenance of vehicle etc. driving.

And I understand the statistics. I still fly, I just hate it.

If it has more than 4 legs I really don't want anything to do with it.
I can't count the number of times I've woken up with a spider on me in the woods. I remember once sleeping in a floorless shelter on an archery elk hunt in a big rain storm. I kept having this sensation of sleeping on a small rock. It ended up being a big ass spider tucking up next to me out of the wet where it was warm. I started using a bivy with bug screen soon thereafter.

I am just always curious about people that don’t like it.

I just believe that the variables outside your control driving are far far more than flying.

I have a family member that’s a pilot and he always laughs when people ask him whether or not planes are safe. His response is basically “I am on the same plane as you. If it goes down, I go down. I have a vested interest in getting you to your destination safely because I also want to get there safely.”

In high school me and a friend caught a bull snake about five feet long and maybe 2-1/2” thick in the middle. We played with it for awhile and it got kind of docile when it figured out we weren’t gonna hurt it. He got the bright idea to drape it around his neck and knock on his own back door cuz his mom was scared of snakes. We felt kinda bad when she fainted and bumped her head on the door jamb, and even worse when we both got grounded for a week. My mom also didn’t think it funny.
