I don't remember where I read it, but I think there was some measurements taken on recoil reduction and in most cases you can only expect maybe a 25% reduction in recoil from a suppressor.

The major benefit you get from a suppressor is reducing the blast to hearing safe levels and potentially being able to get a follow-up shot on an animal easier due to less less noise.

I can keep the Target within my scope at 15x at 100 yd when shooting a 147 out of my 6.5 cm using the factory Tikka stock. Spotting shots is primarily accomplished through recoil management and assisted by stock design or recoil reduction

The brake it comes with or 3 port?
The single port brake it comes with. I haven’t tried any other end caps.
Is that in comparison to running a flat end cap or no suppressor?
No suppressor. I haven’t tried any other endcaps.

A suppressor obviously isn't going to give you the recoil reduction of a big ported brake, but I refuse to put a brake on any of my rifles as I never double-up hearing protection especially in the field. The scythe does make it noticeably easier to spot my shots compared to bare muzzle.

For anyone following along, great deal just dropped for these on capital armory. I just placed an order, hoping to use the store credit on a .22LR suppressor in the near future.

Almost exactly 2 days for me, between certifying with Capitol Armory and getting the ATF approval back. Like @Hectocotylus above, the holds up so far have been on my side working around the holiday.

First can. I’m very much looking forward to it as well.

Ive been shooting the scythe alongside a magnus s rr. As far as suppression, there is no noticeable difference between the two when wearing ear protection. On a 10# 6.5 creedmoor recoil reduction from both cans allows for me to easily spot shots prone. Slight edge to the tbac. A more noticeable difference in recoil reduction imo between the cans on a 10# 7prc. Once again cant tell a difference in suppression while wearing ear protection.
My take is Im partial to the magnus s rr but its kinda a tossup when you begin to consider weight, cost and the particular caliber you plan to use. If I were to buy one of the cans just for a 6mm hunting rig: scythe. If I want more performance across calibers including magnums and cost is no issue: magnus s rr

Tubeless cans have some risks apparently. An emotional rollercoaster...

Buddy's new ScytheTI blew up Oct Monday 7th @ 304pm, 2 1/2 days before leaving for his hunt in Colorado. had about 250 rounds of 7prc through in on his new StraightJacketArmory build. Many years of putting in for points and boy he was frosty about that can! Launched 2/3 of it out in the field and destroyed the SilencerCO Suppressor wrap. It was his first can and man I really had to talk him off a ledge. Thankfully no baffle strike, just a clean separation at the weld.

He immediately got a hold of customer service and explained the problem and the predicament. They said send it in but could not promise anything until they had it in their hand so see the reality of what would really need to be done but they hoped for a Thursday repair.

He boxed it up and took it to FedEx for First Overnight service. They had an in hand by Tuesday @ 8am the next morning October 8th. They notified him is was fixed around 4pm the same day and sent it back FedEx. Come in on the morning plane Wednesday October 9th. I met him on his lunch break to get the can and went to his house to shoot his new rifle for him. Damned if there was absolutely no change in zero! He packed the truck and left that night after work, very happy. Ended up getting a nice bull elk.

SilencerCo's customer service was outstanding. almost can't tell it was repaired. Gun certainly doesn't notice!

Yes it seems that way. Must have only been a few days. I had to call CA today to get some help with setting up a trust and they did confirm I’d be getting a $200 store credit via email in a few weeks. Made for a great deal, I couldn’t pass it up, though I’m sad it ended so fast.

I also had a Scythe TI separate at the weld a couple weeks ago while shooting a 7 PRC. Found the other 1/2 of the can about 50 yards down range. No damage other than failed weld. Returned to SilencerCo and had a new Scythe TI back in less than 1 week (including shipping time). Great customer service.

Two failures mentioned in 694 posts does seem a bit concerning. Not sure what an acceptable failure rate is for something like this.

Interesting. But again, I don’t know how many thousand of these have been sold and how many failures have occurred. I just wouldn’t call two posts about failures out of several hundred posts a lot. There’s just not enough information to make a determination.

Those failures are definitely concerning… was thinking I’d go purchase one of these soon but may hold off for a bit.
