Silencerco Scythe TI review

Mine spent 4 days in jail. Picked it up this afternoon. I think the black one is only available thru Silencer Central. I would have got either one. Of course, as par for my luck….they marked down all in stock suppressors $50 the next business day after I got mine🙄 Now I have to wait another month to shoot since I had 2 vertebrae in my neck fused.IMG_8801.jpegIMG_8800.jpeg

Woke to an email from atf, my scythe was approved, 114 days in jail, personal form4, thanks assholes! Anyway super excited to pick it up when I get home from work in 2 weeks.

Purchased thru Silencer Central 7-13 and in hand today 😎
Pretty painless process all in all. Much better than the other 3 that’ve been in jail with Capitol Armory for several months.IMG_2749.jpeg

Just an FYI- the Silencer Shop has the Scythe Ti (black) in stock. I just bought my second one.

In stock at bauer
Bauer has been good to deal with purchasing. But their form3 times and shipping can potentially take a WHILE. All info was given to them at purchase, and my first 2 cans took 3 weeks form3 and shipping to my local dealer, the most recent took over 4 weeks. Friend of mine purchased a wolf hunter 4 days after mine from Bauer, and he had his in hand with NFA approval before mine even arrived at my dealer, so it's hit and miss.

I agree but that’s a price I’m willing to pay for them having them in stock and often running sales on them 10-20% off.

Got one ordered from Bauer, a better price then some places. Now I hope they get the form3 transfer done in a timely manner.

Sorry, this has probably been covered in the hundreds of messages above.

I noticed both end caps are unthreading as I shoot. What’s the best thread compound to use to stop this, but still be able to break free if I need to in the future?

I cleaned the threads on both of mine before use. A dab of blue loctite at 12 and 6 torque them on. I also use the area 419 mounting system with a small amount of blue loctite. Strap wrench to get them apart for cleaning as needed. Haven't had a problem since. Milage may vary.

I think the general consensus is to use a bit of roksett on the threads. Apparently it’s water soluble when you want to remove it.

Some companies like thunderbeast use that stuff to lock in their direct thread adapters. I had the same issue with my scythe so a few drops of roksett and the problem is solved.

Also, I believe SiCo sells small packets of roksett so you don’t need to buy the whole bottle, I wish I’d known that before spending 30 bucks on the full little just to use a few drops.

I bought rockset but have been fine lately after tightening the piss out of everything so haven’t yet used it.
