Barrel mirage was a thing for you.
I didn’t notice any mirage this time and had a decent sight picture in a budget scope. However, I did struggle getting the corn hole bags and bipod just right shot to shot on the uneven ground. Between that and the sweat, bugs, and time crunch I was under, I was very satisfied with these results.

This was a pretty stressful situation shooting off the dirt in the heat. This rifle was very “forgiving” to shoot with an imperfect rest, cheek weld, etc., and I’m looking forward to future sessions with handloads at the actual range instead of my backyard.

17 of the 20 rounds fall into a pretty ragged 4” square with multiple rounds touching. 11 fall inside approximately 1”. So while total MOA for these 20 rounds isn’t great, I’ll own the handful of shots off target and not blame the equipment.

Today I think I had cold shooter syndrome. I warmed up by my 3rd group. It was only 8 rounds though.

First day at the range with a 24” stainless CTR. Bought it yesterday, mounted an SHV 3-10 and grabbed a box of Precision Hunter. Shots 8-18 through the brand new barrel went just barely under an inch at 100 yards. 92 degrees in direct sunlight, two barrel cleanings down to bare metal (one before shot 8, one after shot 13), 6mph breeze, no wait time between shots other than to jack one in and get back on target… that’s all just to say, no voodoo. She doesn’t appear to be picky and I’m curious what will happen as I continue shooting it.

I liked my 20” CTR in 6.5CM how it came from the factory but I love it after adding a supressor (Harvester Evo) and putting it in a KRG Bravo.

Both groups are handloads with 43.5g of H4350 in Starline SRP brass. Shot the left group first with 130 ELDM’s and then after adjusting right 0.1 mil, proceeded to shoot the right group with 130 TMK’s.

It’s heavy but damn if it isn’t a dream to shoot!
