Little better today with the norma 143.

Shot great out to 900, credo is struggling to see impacts at 1k with any mirage at all, got hits from the light but hard to tell how it grouped. 25750A83-2B0F-4EE0-9AFB-534CFFC40B1B.jpeg

It did not care for another rifles 130eldm load. My last tikka liked heavy bullets I wonder if this one does too.

Interesting ... Frank has suggested a few times that Tikkas, with their 'slower' barrels, should do better with bullets in the 120s and 130s. Has anyone else found their Tikka prefers heavier than 139g?

No idea, i would interpret that more about getting some velocity back than about accuracy. But I guess idk whether he means slow velocity or what.

This wasn’t me saying tikkas do ___. Just interested to see if this barrel likes heavier stuff better like my last one did, further that’s only hornady eld options, I don’t shoot much else because reloading sucks and I only do it to save money

3 factory boxes so far through a new superlite 7 mag in a grayboe phoenox stock. Still seeing what it likes the best. Not the greatest so far but will have a PVA prefit in 7saum coming soon anyway.

Yes, he's said it in the context of wanting to achieve 2800-2850 (or more) FPS. I think the suggestion is for bucking wind, hence improved precision and accuracy.

Yeah, it would be nice if I could get a 130 load to grab another 100-150fps for that reason. This 143 is at ~2440. But honestly it’s still impressive in the wind to me

6.5 creed in shorter barrels, at normal pressures is slow to begin with.

Iv seen tikka factory barrels shoot about everything well. Seems like each time there has been a bullet that the barrel just likes better.

Preffered Barrels, 284 Win, Tikka pre-fit on my dads rifle. This barrel has a really long freebore to maximize powder capacity for 180 eldms.
I shot 5, then shot 5 out of a dirrerent rifle then shot 5 more into this group. We shot H4831sc for the first 175ish rounds out of the barrel but it wasn't as consistent as we wanted. We decided to try H4350 and have gotten a little better accuracy with only 25 FPS loss.

This is why you can’t trust a 3 round group
