How many more years does the old REI have left? What will you do when it breaks down? Replace or rebuild? Those long undies look comfortable.

Haha, you are correct, the old REI did run out of years.

Have since upgraded to a much more qualified external frame...

I guess I was just reminiscing a bit.

I was flexing for the picture. LOL. : ) The 1st pic is a complete ram in the pack. Somewhat boned out. Despite my buddy's offer of assistance I just had to do it all myself. It was a bit of a climb down into a ravine and then back up and out and then a 1/2 mile walk to camp. Not a tough haul, but it wasn't that far either. We split the ram up for the hike out and it was not bad at all. 2nd pic is head + 1/2 the meat and my normal gear load.

No pic of mine, but here's my dad hauling about 65# of gear with his Kuiu 5200 on a 61 year old frame with an artificial hip :)

I have to write here I forgot to get a pic of my bikini 7k from this last week. Packed half of my Nv cow and most of our camp out 7 miles and 1000' up to the trailhead and my 14 year old son packed the tent and his sleeping bag and food my buddy packed the rest of the meat in his eblestock just one. We weighed our packs at his house mine was 145 and his was 125 total. Sorry for no pics.

I have been thinking about upgrading my pack now that I have retired from the green machine....but when I see the heavy loads you guys are carying, well it makes me think my old Alice Pack ain't so bad. One thing with Joe, if you give him a bigger pack he will find something else to put in that bigger pack. Alice pack with rack and 9 day camp minus 4 days rations and shooter.

Jeez you guys are tough! That's some serious miles with packs that heavy. Nice work.

It was a get out before the storm situation. Partner was getting cold and the snow was turning to rain/sleet. I normally don't carry bone, first in a long time.
