I have a few “elk” rifles, but, unfortunately, none have taken an elk. I had planned on correcting that small issue this fall; however, the pandemic got in the way. My newest-to-me elk rifle is a Remington 700 KS in 300 RUM. It weighs 8 pounds, 2 ounces scoped. It handles nicely, and it seems to shoot 200 gr Accubonds pretty well.

Single shot 45-70. More practical than you might think. Comes in at 7 lbs with scope and rings.

The other that gets used frequently is another T3.

A .308 I had chopped to 20"s and brake installed. Wears a Mcmillan Edge stock. For glass it has a Nightforce 2.5-10x24 compact. When it is time to climb the steep stuff, and I don't want to pack a lot of weight, this is the gun I grab. It has proven over and over that it will get the job done.

I built this as an all around, do everything "practical rifle", and it has proven its worth. I would be perfectly content to hunt the rest of my days with just this one 20" .308.

I have been using this Browning BAR in 30-06 last two or three years. Elk and deer. Love this gun. I couldn’t tell anyone the weight most likely well over seven pounds but I can definitely unload it in well under seven seconds so there is that. I feel like the weight isn’t a problem as long as I don’t know what it is kinda like I didn’t know how bad my binos were until I looked through better ones. As long as I don’t ever weigh it I won’t need anything lighter

I dont have a picture but I hunted elk with a Ruger No. 1B in .300 Win Mag this year. With the Leupold 3-9 it probably weighs 10 pounds or around there.
