This is a really great thread with some awesome photos. If I could trouble everyone for one just one thing. Could you please post the make / model of your tipi for those of us who don't know all the makes and brands? It would be really helpful as I'm personally trying to research and choose a new set up for future hunts.

I'm also going to buy either a 4 or 6 man tipi. Only 2 going this year but I want the flexibility to have 3 so I may go with the 6 depending on the weight difference. I have a question for those of you who've had experience in the snow. Does the snow soften or melt overnight enough where it refreezes during the day and it's like an ice skating rink inside when you get back from hunting?

In my experience I have found that I want my tipi to be as easy to set up as possible. With that being said I went with a square tipi and my set up is in a few minutes. Most I had previously were round or some odd ass shape and it was difficult to get it tight, and if there was uneven ground it drove me nuts.

gotta really critique those contour lines, lol. It was a little funky setup, but it worked. It's all the rocks, lumps and shrubs that make it tough to pitch right. Probably the one thing I don't like about an 8 man size tipi.

Summer I pitch it high enough that the condensation isn't an issue. You can see the air gap in the open door photo below. When it's just me later in the fall I pitch it pretty high too. Zero condensation.

My buddies don't like the air flow so I have to pitch it down tight. That's the photo with the buck in it. Plenty of condensation in the morning from us breathing in there, but not enough to drip on us or anything. We camped in a pretty wet meadow that trip too which is condensation city. At that point it just takes a little getting used to. Only a big deal if you make it one.
