It’s probably hard for some that haven’t grown up Ag and border facing to truly comprehend the situation both currently and historically along Texas border, but instead of being experts they should at least try to listen to others that have.
most don’t even know the Government where gunning down Nilgi from helicopters to try to stop them from crossing back in and forth to U.S. carrying fever ticks
Yep they did helicopter kill a bunch south of the hwy 183 line , that was the area that I was stationed, that and Kennedy, brooks, Jim Hogg , star counties
But imo nilgai are impossible to fence in or out ( as they are now in Mexican territory, and are popping up in maverick, webb , dimmit )
Plus when the Rio Grande floods it sometimes tears down miles of tick control fences, which infected animals cross,
I have probably gunned down hundreds of wild Mexican cattle between the river and the tick fence, and they are infected with everything from blue tongue to screw worms,, brucellosis, ect!
People are going to start freaking out when ZIKA & Oropouche virus starts getting into the human population, much less when we start having beef , pork shortages, and deer, elk , pronghorn disappearing in numbers
