Scope ring screws stripped

Hey guys,

Steadily going through all of my dad's old guns and leveling the scopes. I don't know if he did it on purpose but they're all heavily canted the same way. Anyway on the .300 win mag I realized about half of the screws on the scope rings are stripped out so I can't do anything with it. Any ideas on the best way to get these out? My first thought was drill then out, and I do have a drill press but it's just so small a target. I've used EZ outs before but do they make any that small? Any input is appreciated.

I've used EZ outs for those in the past.

They make easy outs that small. Try a small ez-out and left hand drill bit

Be careful drilling them out, I was just working on one and stupidly had my hand close when the carbide bit snapped and skipped to the side...

I had the allen head strip out on one screw when removing the rings several years ago. I used a drill bit a little larger than the allen hole (which was now round), and carefully drilled it until the head of the screw was gone. I then removed the ring, and was able to use a small pair of vice grips to grab the stud of the screw, and it came out easily without damaging anything. It only happened once, and I was probably lucky it came out that easy.
