Would this Be an Okay to Use Torque Wrench for Scope Mounting?

On a budget so don't have a lot to spend but after dealing with stripped out scope ring screws thought might use a torque wrench and not over tighten the screws?

VEVOR 1/4" Drive Torque Screwdriver Torque Wrench Set

I know there are others probably better quality but for as little I would use one.
Just trying to not be in a similar situation drilling out scope ring screws again.
Thanks

If you have experienced stripped out screws, that says more about the quality of rings than your method of tightening.

That looks like a cool gizmo. That style of torque wrench seems to have matured to the point it’s more reliable than years past. Still, inexpensive electromechanical gizmos have a way of self destructing and if it lasted longer than a new TV everyone would be surprised. Since you mentioned being on a budget there is a much less expensive long term option with a small beam model, which has an unlimited lifespan and the calibration is as easy to check as looking that the pointer returned to zero. The one I purchased in junior high decades ago is still as useful today as it was when new. If going this route you’ll also need a 1/4” square to screw bit adapter. The best $20 a gun owner can spend.

Sure, if you want that on your scope rings or have a fastener and space that’s big enough to really get a good line.
You put the paint on the screw threads and it then dries preventing the fasteners from vibrating out, similar to thread locker which some people have problems with.

Yeah, at that point any random substance could work. Paint pens in every other commercial or professional use are just to mark that a fastener has been brought to proper torque and to make a witness line.

If you’re using them for thread locker then why not just use low strength thread locker.

Thanks for the Posts and Suggestions. Just need to come up with $ to buy one of these firearm's torque wrenches. It is a bad time as soon my Property Taxes will be due as well as home & auto insurances. So will have to hold off spending any money till I have these Bills covered.

It means you care that nothing has changed and you can tell that it hasn't. I find it weird that this isn't standard practice.
Safety wire would be over the top. Scoffing at a witness mark for one of the things keeping your gun more useful than a rock? Odd really simple thing not to do.

When did I mention safety wire? When did I scoff?

I think the reason the majority of people aren’t placing witness lines with a paint pen is because A) they use a basic threadlocker like Loctite 243 and so their screws never come loose unless they want them to, and B) on a small fastener that is often recessed, and in a cramped area like a scope ring it’s difficult to place a good witness mark.

I'll make you an offer.

I have a torque screwdriver. It's a Husky branded one. It's done a lot of scopes and optics.

I'll mail it to you as a loaner. You cover shipping back
