Scope adjustment lag

Just thought this was worth reposting.

Didn't get answered, hopefully it's getting considered.

Could also lean gun on a truck, let it fall over, see if it holds. Not like that doesn't happen all the time.

None of that is happening. LOL.

But you know this.

I am striking my scope with my keyboard. How much does yours weigh?

More than yours but it works. All the time. Every time. 24oz Trijicon.

Honestly. Keep the gun. Order an SWFA 6x. Shoot the crap out of it and figure it out. When YOU can shoot that gun well, compare the Leupold group to the SWFA group and move forward.

Learning to shoot a light gun well is a great skill to have and fun.

I am concerned about light barrel heating. But like I said my other rifles kick more. Shooting this in Tshirt.

I do intend on shooting this until I am satisfied with performance.

I got basement full of bullets, but not ear plugs, so I reload them.

Interesting so focused of things. Go work some place loud.

Texans like to say "why in Texas we_____". But they don't realize we all have it.
I can't take it anymore, please tell me what we say because I have no idea. Lol

I've been following the thread and interested in the results. I'm a big Leupold fan but these guys are slowly wearing on me over time. I've got a VX5-HD in the safe that's never been mounted and I'm trying to muster up the bravery to do so but still keep the EuroOptic page with the Credo scopes on it taunting me.

Sell it. Tenmile. That is all.

Don’t look back.

I normally hunt 15-45 yards.

From the pictures you posted of your groups and if you're hunting at those distances, I'd say you're golden. No need to change scopes or rifles or loads or anything.
Might want to practice your windage calls though.
Just keep shooting those groups. You'll definitely kill, just keep it in the front half the deer or elk.
Good luck this season.
Please post your success pictures

So far so good, as the guy who jumped off building said.

Bro, I thought you were out hunting? Couldn't order a proper scope, because it wouldn't get to you on time etc. But now you're still here posting, when you should be out innawoods...

(This thread has to be @TK-421 taking revenge on all of us Tikka fanboys.)

Never said hunting. Just it takes a week for prime to get to me.

Hunt is November.

Why are you ordering scopes from Amazon?

Eurooptic is the way. Free 2-day shipping.
I did get vx5 from them, demo. Just saying nothing gets here in 2 days. Amazon hands off to UPS USPS and still a week often..

After reading this whole thread, I'll offer my opinion. For many years, I assumed that all scopes held zero and tracked reliably. I mean, why wouldn't they? So, I shopped based on glass quality. At one point, I had a ton of Leupolds, Swaros and Vortex Razors. Problem is, they wouldn't hold zero. I thought that zero'ing frequently was needed and normal. It took a long range shooting course and learning how to shoot at those distances to learn that my scopes weren't up to the task. It was at this point that I began to research alternatives.

Zerk, I think the thing you are missing out of all these posts is that your Leupold is subject to fail to hold zero at any time. That may be now, may be 5 years from now. I think your strategy of setting this one 2" high after confirming that it holds zero is flawed. Even though you aren't planning to dial, you still have potential failure hanging out there. When a $209 SWFA or an $800 Trijicon will cure that problem, there is no reason to hang on to the Leupold scope. Take that advice from a reformed Leupold addict.

I am one of the people that needs to learn himself. This forum is full of people using leupolds. I am not ready to put some chinese scope on my gun. I wonder how anybody but you guys shoots anything,

I will evaluate this scope. But the idea that I am just throwing out a $1k scope, and offending people because in one week I have not bought a scope is just sensitive for me.

I will be the first one back with an honest reply if this thing is junk.

If it helps you sensitive people, I do agree, there seems to be tracking issue. Next time I go out I will shoot a group, and then adjust scope.

Exactly, nothing to indicate your leupold falls inline with the others, tons of influencers use them successfully and they aren’t some Chinese scope. Those groups you posted are solid.

I don't hear sensitive people. I hear people offering advice that YOU came here seeking. Whatever you choose, no skin off my back.

Also, I may have missed it, but I didn't see anyone recommending a Chinese-made scope. The SWFA, Trijicon and Nightforce recommendations are Japanese scopes.
