Scam Alert - Whitingja scammed me

I stupidly sent Whitingja funds for a Garmin chronograph through PayPal F&F. His profile showed it was active since 2012 and he had recently made comments on a couple of different subs, so I didn’t think twice about it. It looks like his profile is now deleted.

The scammer’s name is Mike Kemani and his PayPal email is [email protected]

I know I’m out of the money, but does anyone have experience getting scammers banned from PayPal even if F&F was used?

It's fraud, you may be able to get your bank to reverse the charges.

Thanks! I have bought and sold so much stuff on Rokslide over the years that I thought I had a good feel for identifying scammers. That teaches me!

Hey! Easy on the hotmail. I’ve had the same hotmail account since 1998

He got me, too. Was able to get the money back using my bank. The name and email he gave me was different than the one listed above.

Yessir, that’s what I assume as well. The account hadn’t posted since 2021 before this scamming spree.

If they are actively engaging in conversation recently, still beware, but maybe be cautiously optimistic.

And…likely the most important thing, people really need to use two factor authentication.

And with the ease of using things like the Apple Password app people should be using very strong passwords that are unique.
