Satellite phone or booster for vehicle

I have been out of range with spotty to no coverage, lots this year and 2022 will be 60% of the year ?
so hopefully someone can shoot me a annual cost / plan they use , are some mapping app’s available?
I need some advice on pro’s & con’s
if not a satellite what types booster for a camp or boat for digital coverage

I use a booster all the time. Lots of locations I have zero service. Even with the booster I don’t get service sometimes. I plug in the bigger antenna and then I can surf the net.

As others have said: you can’t boost a signal that isn’t there in the first place.

Here’s how it works. You can get an external antenna for your vehicle such as a high-gain antenna, but you cannot exceed a certain power limit. When you’re using a mobile device such as a smartphone, you’ve only got a small amount of power to begin with. In addition, the cell phone tower is higher power, so you may hear it but it may not hear you. Imagine a football coach with a megaphone, and you’re at the other end of the field without one. You will hear him, but he won’t hear you.

So that leaves a satellite phone.

How much will that sat phone be worth if you’re out of range in an emergency? PRICELESS.
