"Sally" Push up challenge

Took yesterday off because my deck of cards workout smoked my upper body.

Just got through 16 and failed going up on 17. Happy with the progress after starting at 12.

Well i think im gonna take another few days off lol. I just tried it and again and only got to the hold on 18 like last time, but failed a couple seconds sooner than i did last attempt

Actually got two more than my last PR tonight. Made it through the long pause of 18 and basically fell on my face as soon as she said up for 19 haha.

Went backwards. Failed after 16 with a day off yesterday, but I worked out yesterday harder than normal. Here’s to tomorrow.

Well that really pissed me off lol...took a 12 minute break and decided to go again making sure to really concentrate on using my chest for UP and not my triceps. Got back to 18. So I’m happy with that. No doubt in my mind if I concentrate off the bat that tomorrow I will hit 19.

Tried this on Tuesday. Failed going up at 14. I've got some work to do. I watched Goggins do this on IG and he struggled a bit on the last few, so I knew it would be hard. I'll try to work this in a couple times a week and see if I can make some improvements.

Challenge is set to the song "Flower" by Moby. It sounds like he says "Bring Sally up, bring Sally down." He actually says green Sally, but that's irrelevant.

Whenever he says Sally up, you push up. Whenever he says down, you go down to a 90* elbow bend and hold there until he says up again. There are only 30 pushups, but you're always holding at the bottom so it's definitely tough. It's basically a 3 minute push up plank hold with 30 pushups added. You're supposed to do it once a day and keep track until you can complete the challenge.

Here is the video where someone explains the challenge better and it has the music and counter for you to keep track. Music starts at 2:40.

FIrst time i did this was a few years ago. At that time , i thought it was 75 pushups by the time i finished. LOL

I gave this a go yesterday. I don't do a lot of planks, but can knock out a lot of pushups.

This was a bitch! I got 15 the first go. I tried it again about 10 minutes later (probably not the best plan) and got 14. I tried it again another 10 minutes later (definitely not a good plan!) and got 14 again.

Those long pauses (which in reality are just a few seconds) are killers- I was shaking like a leaf!

Anyways will continue to work on this until I can finish it. :)

Man its crazy how out of shape ive gotten! Failed on 18 again. Still very sore from the mtntough 22's i did the other day tho. Last year i could breeze through that workout with a 20lb weight vest on like it was nothing lol. My watch says my vo2 max has gone from 53 to 47. Im never gonna let myself get so bad again!
