I know this is slightly off topic but the mask people are wearing are ridiculous.
Example I just ran into Walmart for a couple of things. I asked the store employee if and when they were going to extend the store hours.
He told me they were talking about the hours in a meeting today. The whole time he’s talking I’m looking at his mask. It was so filthy. I bet he’s been wearing the same mask since all this nonsense started.
How can ineffective mask, bandannas and crust filthy face mask make us safer? Ridiculous!

The CO governor's husband is a PETA loving, HSUS supporting, soyboy vegan.

The way they have handled the pandemic in Colorado has clearly been political.

Given that, there is a real possibility CO could be on quarantine during hunting season.

I would be going hunting... quarantine or not. The residents of Colorado seem to have a leadership issue that needs addressed. Sure hope they fix that next election.

I am getting so blanking tired of this, so lets agree on this.
You wear the mask in your home and while fooling around with the wife and hugging your family
You lock your self inside for as long as you are told
You let them stick a unproven miss mash needle for of stuff they say will kill some as many times as they feel
they want to or until the figure it out.
I and my family will be out fishing Hunting, hiking, camping anywhere that is away from you all.
So run off now with your BAAAAAAAD self

So, I work at a ski resort near Durango as a Part time bartender. I also work in Outdoor sports retail shop. I guide hunters in the fall. This is my opinion and experience:

There are Out of state people everywhere here!

We are lucky to be Open at the bar or anywhere. The economic impact of the shutdown was extremely damaging. But, the risk of letting People vacation here and taking their money is helping a ton. I am happy to be working and refuse to take the unemployment handout unless it becomes absolutely necessary. We have enough debt as a country already.

The sales at the whitewater shop are absolutely belligerent. May sales exceeded all of 2019! In Just one month. We are basically sitting on zero inventory. People are fleeing their home states and showing up to buy any outdoor equipment that they can. Also our internet sales are impressive, to say the least.

I am booked solid with hunts this fall. No joke.

the biggest question to ask is can we actually afford to shutdown? Canceled hunting trips would crush our economy. I understand we need to keep people safe.
So, will safety or the economy win?

OP I think you will be fine regardless based on where you are going.

Even if the state does "shut down" there are many points of entry if you are driving. If flying look into Montrose or GJ versus DIA. SLC if need be.

Which political Party has a higher percentage of registered voters with absentee ballots? A shutdown this fall could possibly provide an advantage.....

All I know is it would be best case scenario if Idaho would go into lockdown for September and October nr hunting gone like it was for spring bear, otherwise this year in the outdoors is going to be a shit show!

Went up on the reservoir today with my family and it was bumper to bumper campers in places I’ve never seen a camper. Fire pits all over with trash in every single one of them, I think our public lands are in for a rough year with a lot of strain on resources and wildlife due to more usage, every Tom, dick , and Harry are buying new bows and it seems this virus turned hunting into a fad. It sucks

Government can say whatever they want...and as long as so many sheep are running free, they will get away with it. Haven't wore a mask one time. Never participated in the shutdowns or any other of this nonsense. Not going too either...

Seems to me it may make it worse , with people off work they will be in the woods more. And if as you say hunting is a fade this would be a peek year.

It will be interesting to see if it is just a fad. I have mixed emotions about it. Nice to see people enjoying the great outdoors but the great outdoors has turned into Walmart on Black Friday. Once dust settles we will have to see if it sticks.

I am not convinced that it is just because people have more time on their hands because of being out of work. That may have been early on, but every time I go into town it is packed and I do not know anyone who is not working right now. If you are out of work you are not buying a new camper and heading for the hills. The outdoors is not cheap! Our local archery shop must be setting records for sales and have been that way since they opened back up. Maybe people have found something to replace sports/professional sports with? I have two kids in high school that are both athletes. It was a different June not being gone every weekend for summer ball. On the pro side, they have recently started up with baseball and the NBA. I have been a big sports fan all of my life but am done with the pros as are many of the people I know. Turns out I am a bigger fan of my country than I am of any sports league and I do not need to listen to multi millionaires tell me how tough life is and how much America sucks. If the average Joe does not have sports to distract him on the weekends, maybe that gets him into the outdoors a bit more. It will be an interesting hunting season.

Canceled vacations, covid money, extra $600 a week etc. is also feeding the buying power of joe blow. I talked with thEd owner of the hot tub pool place by my shop and this was his take on why he is sold out...
