152000 is a big number but 2839205 people died in 2018. Perspective makes things that look bad really not that bad. The manipulation of people on this is rather amazing.

That’s exactly my point, I work in Emergency services, I know for a fact that people have been coded as a covid death that died from something other than covid but because they test every dead person regardless of the cause of death, it becomes a covid death if they are positive. Approx 7,000 people die everyday in America, while 145,000 sounds like a lot in 6 months, in the grand scheme of things it’s nothing. (Not that any death isn’t a loss). We were told millions were going to die, and that fear is what everything is based off of. We are testing Americans at a rate that it would take 10 countries testing to compare. I have family members that have had it, co workers that have had it, and family friends that have had it. None led to a death or even close, even some that were in that group that is most vulnerable. The virus is not going to go away anytime soon, therapies are improving, 99.4% are surviving it and unlike H1N1 children seem to mostly be unaffected. So what are we doing? Hiding and praying with our underwear strapped to our faces is not a permanent solution.

If we had tested, traced and contained it early on, then yes. We didn't, and now it continues to spread.

Compare South Koreas response to ours -

By March 3rd they had already tested 140,000 people, built drive up testing stations, provided free masks for citizens, and provided quarantine facilities in hotels for people who were infected to prevent them from infecting their families. Their cases per day PEAKED on March 1st, 2020 at 1000 cases per day.

South Koreas TOTAL DEATHS as of today, is just 300 people.

In comparison at that point in time the US had only tested 2000 people, were months behind on masks recommendations, and has a population of people who think Coronavirus is a "hoax." Just two days before South Koreas highest ever level of infection Trump was at a rally saying "This is their new hoax."

Now South Korea and all the other countries with swift responses ARE back to life, without shutdowns.

Meanwhile, the

US DEATH TOLL as of today is 152,000 people.

There are tons of other countries that responded efficiently and quickly in order to educate their citizens and keep them safe. It works. We didn't do these things properly, continue not to, and hundreds of thousands are dying.

There's no doubt South Korea's response was/is more successful than ours here in the US. It's not a fair apples to apples comparison though.

You're comparing a country made up of people with the highest per capita level of education and second highest per capita level of healthcare to a country where people go to Walmart in pajamas and flip flops. Not a great comparison, but it's funny and you get my point.

It's safe to say the average South Korean is better equipped to understand the threat of the virus and to rationalize an appropriate response as well.

What I don’t understand is that most viruses in the Corona family are highly contagious, every other virus from influenza to H1N1 infects/infected 60 million + Americans annually , do people believe we can all hide and the rona will go away? This thing is here to stay and tens of millions are going to get it. The fear factor is what I don’t get, it has a less than 1/2 of 1 percent mortality rate. One of my co workers tested positive on Saturday, only thing he’s got going on is the loss of taste and smell. That makes several of my coworkers that have gotten it in the last few months.

The Coronavirus is what it is..........a virus. It's the response to it that's the hoax. The left needs the people "in fear"......hence the response. That's why most conservatives could care less about the virus and don't agree with mandated masks and shutdowns.........because we don't live our lives in fear. We refuse to let the virus win........the only way the virus wins, is if the response to it creates fear, shuts our country and the economy down, and puts a puppet dementia man in the White House. This is why there are countries with only a couple hundred deaths, while our country accuses people following their advice of being "sheep."

Being willfully and blatantly ignorant while ignoring advice of educated people doesn't make you enlightened, it makes you dangerous.

1/3 of those deaths happened in a 100 sq mile area because of the dipshit governors in New York and New Jersey and the nursing home failure. We get it .......people are going to die, millions of people die every year in America but we dont shut down the entire country, destroy our economy , and further bury us in debt! If we would have let this play out in Feb/March without any shut downs, the United States would have achieved herd immunity across the entire North American continent. This would have been a footnote in 2020. Instead, the government felt the need to quarantine the entire HEALTHY population, thus delaying the natural course of every virus Earth has thrown at us.

My niece is getting married in Denver in a few weeks. Sure hope we make it. She’s already had to eliminate half her guests and is stressing out big time. Especially when she sees 1,000‘s of rioters on TV every night, yet she can’t have a few friends at her wedding.....yeah, the hypocrisy is frustrating.

That is because if you are under 50 the death rate for Covid and the flu are similar. If you are a youngster the death rate for the flu is higher. Make sense now?

My buddy was “possibly exposed” on a job site about two weeks ago. Went to some walk in testing facility with a mile long line. Filled out the required check in sheet, stood there for an hour and a half. Finally said screw it and left after barely moving. Got a call three days later saying he was positive. the next day he got a call from another facility he actually was tested at. Negative. Very interesting.

If there are closures for any seasons or states. I know of several places that are wide open. I’ll even share my honey holes
