Howa Mini support…sweet!
Roksliders, here is the first glimpse of the highly anticipated Rokstok Lite. I will supply the production and retail info I know and then let @Formidilosus and @Ryan Avery take over with the real details you want.
I don't know yet if there will be a scalloped rail version, it looks like there may not be enough meat on there but we'll see. If there's not enough room we will design some super lite rail versions for it to keep the weight down.
The wood design is right at 20/21 ounces with butt pad, I don't know where the carbon will end up.
We plan to have the LOP backing plate integrated on this model so you can add spacers as needed. The original Rokstok needed the mold to incorporate the LOP and we did not think of that ahead of time.
Pricing will be very similar to the original Rokstok.
Action inlets will be limited to 700 Short, Tikka, Howa mini, Kimber, Savage. We are open to more requests, I may have missed some here.
We plan to make a youth model with a short LOP that comes with the spacer kit to grow with your child. Any input on minimum LOP would be great so we know where to start.
As the wood version has just been approved by @Formidilosus the process is to scan the stock, 3D print the stock for dimensional checks, then have molds made, then acid etch the molds, then start test inlets, then finally production stocks.
I won't try just yet to put a timeline on this, but will keep you updated on this thread as we move along. But the process is underway!!!
Thank you all for your support of UM and S2H!!!!

I didn't see there would be 2 rokstok lites. But every one's asking for a short stock and it concerns me considering most have found that they like spacers in the rokstok as it is. Keeping the rokstok lite at atleast 13.5" and doing a seperares youth stock for kids would be great. What?
There will be two different stocks a standard and youth.
This! It's not lightweight if you just made it too small and have to add a bunch of stuff to make it serviceable. Spacers are weaker structurally, heavier, and uglier than just making the stock the right size for most.while we are on LOP, I think you should go with whatever fits the most people. Seems like most found the rokstock too short. If we have to put 2-3oz of spacers on a 16oz stock it will be kind of a bummer.
I am aware they talking about two stocks, but if one is kid short and one is still shorter than the average person short, then you will have to add spacers to either.reading is hard apparently
I wasn't referencing you, I understood your point. I trust whatever they come out will be best for the masses. They should have enough data through spacers sales and testing about what will be bestI am aware they talking about two stocks, but if one is kid short and one is still shorter than the average person short, then you will have to add spacers to either.
Or just make it to best fit the average person, and short people can add spacers to the shorter one. IMO, cater to the average user and then provide options (less optimal) for people outside the average user.Need to make the adult version short enough to meet short LOP requirements. Can add length, hard to shorten,
.
Are you going to do wood versions of the lite?Roksliders, here is the first glimpse of the highly anticipated Rokstok Lite. I will supply the production and retail info I know and then let @Formidilosus and @Ryan Avery take over with the real details you want.

deleted my comment. I was rude, I apologize. Not trying to be forum A-hole guy. Carry on. RS lite looks sweet.Acting like you have never misunderstood/misread something is easy (especially at the end of the day)... Actually having never done it is hard...
I missed the 2 different stocks part of post 1 then read an entire thread of people asking for stocks for children and midgets. I also literally added an edit to the post saying I may have misread above before the next response occurred. Should I have deleted it and reposted the point I was trying to make about not making it too short for average? I felt deleting it would have been disingenuous and feels like I'm trying to hide the fact I made a mistake (which obviously I did).
I was comfortable enough to say I missed that part in my response to Ryan and accept I'd messed up assuming they would be the same. I try not to do it but it happens.
