Blaser R8 in a Rokstok survey

For those wanting a wood one, UM is coming out with a wood rokstok. Nothing said about inlets available but I'd assume they still aren't planning anything for the R8.

Hopefully, we can generate enough interest here or other boards that UM can justify making a mold. I know Bjorn reached out on the BlaserBuds site.

I see what you mean about the bolt removal interfering with the negative comb. That's gonna be a tough nut to crack. Cleanest thing I can think of is the stock needs to have a cheek riser that's dovetailed on but removable by taking the buttpad off which would make the overall cost skyrocket.

That is the objective. The stock maker has my R8 Professional Success. Hopefully word of Success by end of next week.

If that works out, and UM can mate an ACE barrel to an Akila Bear 8 barrel extension, then there's a R8 6 UM in my future (after the fast twist .223 Rem they are currently working)!

I would be in. I just got my first R8 in the carbon fiber stock that @BjornF16 had. I love it all except the trigger reach is crazy long. It’s like 3.5” and isn’t super comfortable. I love the system otherwise. It’s 8.5# with suppressor, scope, mounts, and sling.

I got it from Top Dogs Guns Global. He says it was the last one. It took over a year to get. @BjornF16 had one as well I believe.

I have 4 R8 stocks…..but I’m craving a fifth!

What I really need (want) is a lightweight rock stock for my predator setup. That said, I would take a wood one also.

I would love to- when stocks are getting delivered consistently, I will push for an option. However, the issue with the R8 is which version?

Also, there’s going to be some modification to make it work with the Blaser- Bjorn is the test case.

Yep. Probably have to have an adjustable comb that can be removed for bolt housing removal.

Definitely the professional and professional success version.

Akila in Europe now sells versions with receiver in the stock. And at one time Van at top dog was able to order bare receivers also. Would be awesome if they came drop in ready.

Ahh…sorry, I misunderstood the stock in question.

Yes, I have the last cf stock made from that individual. I’ve shot that stock with 6XC in the two Cold Bore challenges

Is there any chance UM offers the stock with a receiver? Never taken the Blaser plunge, but this has me close.
