Looking good guys! My weekend was enjoyable helping my buddies new machine get broken in on an overnighter, but otherwise was just a good day of hiking:)

me and my girls bumped a bachelor group of bulls today. it was back in a brushy meadow so I didnt get a real accurate count but there was at least 10 and all still packin both sides, gotta drop soon

That is a bada$$ setup Ross!

I made it out for a few hours today in search for some turkeys and sheds in a new spot and found both!

Half of a blacktail dead head. Nothing special but I was happy to find something.

Beautiful pics and sheds.

Not to distract from competition, but down here in the high deserts and lower pines of Arizona (especially the trophy Elk units), game wardens have started to monitor off-trail recreational vehicle activity during shed season. There are scars all over the mountains from shed hunting of years past, and it takes decades for the land to patch itself in the lower elevations.

Good luck with the competition, and keep it legal and legitimate!

I was telling Ryan I needed some mojo to get things started this year, so my Meatmode Rokslide shirt did the trick:)

Magnum had a stellar day this week, two sets and one just how you like it side by side, along with 2 whiteys and a muley shed as well. He hit the scent of the side by side set and took off running.....it is nice to have mans friend along to tip you off to antlers:)

Ross:

I really enjoy your shed hunting pictures. Looks like that lab of your's definetly has fun.

What elevation(s) do you typically find most of your elk sheds at?

I only walk that spot once a year, too many other people chasing the deer all over and too obvious of a spot, so if it is up there someone either already found it or it's still there. I like to get away from everyone else.

Funny you say that, the 4 weekends we went there there wasn't another person... And can't be too obvious cuz we were finding horns that were several years old and some that were right in plain sight, unless the people you see are just chasing the deer not even looking for sheds lol...

People are up there all week long from January until now... Juan, that is a great horn but if you'd branch out you'd find more than 12 in a year. Some horns people over look no matter how many are out there. Take this one for example. I walked this place 3 times this year and found no less than 15 sheds each time I was there. I also walked it 3-4 times last year.. This one has been out there for 5-6 years at least.

Can't find them all... I guess that is what I love about shed hunting. No matter how many people go and go and go, there will still be a few antlers out there.

Note to self... I will be sure to park my truck off the beaten path next year :)
