It was quite an adventure involving 2 guns, 3 barrels, and a lot of hours at the range. Shooting 1.6" groups now, so it was worth it. Check it out over there. Can probably start at the end of the thread and work your way back a few videos to get the story.
I'll post more here when I get time.
640 miles and I'm here. Get camp set up, muzzleloader ready, and get some rest. I'm hoping to camp within about a mile of where I scouted those bucks in August. Pray for cell reception so I can keep you updated.
big10, I'm running a post on the front. XS Ghost ring on the rear, their post on front. See their website. Seems like they had a pic of it mounted on a Marlin rifle
This is Robby's wife and he asked me to post this for you all because he hasn't got enough reception at camp to use the laptop.
His camp is at 10,500 feet and it is fall up there. The leaves are all changing and it is cold. He said, and I quote, "The Smoke-pole is loaded and the speed loads are ready". Watch out big deer, my man is in the woods.
Yes, I think you are right, Cindy, because he sent me this to post this morning.
"Out at first light this morning-glassed 4 bucks. The best are two mature 5x5 and 4x5, 24-26" wide. Bucks are in the quakie cover. Some hard horn-some velvet. Have seen one other hunter. Beautiful weather".
