That is sad to see, and in most states, that is likely a state-level problem/state agency (Department of Health) problem to be addressed.

Crime/public services, etc is probably more a rural/urban issue
than Id/MT

If you play the Red vs Blue game, no one wants their free lunch taken
away. Rural/urban/city/small town has no impact on that.

No sales tax in MT is nice but they make up for it in other ways.

Cost of living (essentials) is probably as high as virtually anywhere.
