I bought an in box M77 Mark II with a paddlestock yesterday that is in flawless condition. It’s been in the box for 31 years. It was manufactured in 1991 and to my surprise, has the push feed bolt. Apparently they were push feed for the first couple of years before Ruger went CRF with these. Does anyone know if the push feed option adds value to the rifles? I’d assume so, since they were only made for a year or two. The whiteish lines on the butt are from the pawn shop rubber band that held the price tag on. Came right off. I grew up hunting with paddlestocks and really have always liked them. My dad still has a pile of them that are growing in value. He bought them in the 90s from Fairbanks, AK k-mart or wherever he could find them new for sub $400.

I can't help you on that however there is a skeleton stock owners Facebook group. I definitely would try there. Nice find!

Can you take a pic of the bolt? I've never seen a push feed 77.

I’d never seen nor ever heard of it prior to this rifle and doing some reading. Here’s the push feed bolt on the left next to a late 90s CRF feed on the right. Apparently in the 90s you could send your bolt in for Ruger to convert the push feed to CRF. I’d say I’m too late now!

Iv'e got a 243 Mark II stainless paddle stock, it rarely gets used so I had to refresh my memory and sure enough it's a push feed.

Do you happen to know the year yours shipped? If you don’t and you’re at all curious, you can look up the serial number on Ruger’s website. I’d sure be curious to hear when yours was made!

I'm talking shit, man. LOL That's a dream rifle right there.

Brainstorming what I could trade you for it. 😄
I’d intended to shoot some deer with it but now I’m kinda thinking I oughta put it back in the box for another 30 years! Would be a shame not to take it out on some low key walks though…

Is it unfired? If so a tough decision needs to be made, and I think we both know what it is. ☹️

There is a tiny bit of fouling in the barrel, so it’s been shot. I don’t know if Ruger tested these at the factory or if it was the original owner, and I’ll never know either way. But yep, definitely fired at least a few times.

If any of you boat tail / zytel guys want to fancy your rifle up..check out this guys stuff. Makes custom wood panels. I just ordered some today…
