The Senate version of the BBB was updated in committee on June 14 increasing the total acreage of public lands eligible for sale to over 250 million acres in 11 states. In Idaho where I live, the total of USFS and BLM lands eligible for sale is over 21 million acres according to the Wilderness Society . https://www.wilderness.org/articles...on-acres-public-lands-eligible-sale-senr-bill

The bill also greatly increases leasing on public lands for commercial purposes (mining, logging, oil and gas production, etc). Go the Wilderness Society website and check out the details. They are doing the best job of tracking the details.

Then call your Senators and urge them to remove these provisions from the BBB. I understand that Senator Risch of Idaho is on the fence and his office is literally counting the number of calls they get. He is a critical vote. If you sit this one out there will irreparable damage to DIY hunting in the west. Make the calls.

So the amount of land for sale increased after everyone emailed and called in to complain? I thought it was 3 million total acres before and now its 2 million per state every year for 5 years...without public input on the plots chosen.

Here is an easy way to share one's voice on the matter, RMEF has it set up to add your address and they fill in the rest it looks like.

Thanks! I just used it to contact my representative and senators.

I trust taking a bubble bath with a piranha more than anything the Wilderness Society puts out. Last time they chimed in on Idaho Land sales it was a bunch of fear mongering.

This pisses me off to no end. I can’t believe republicans would do this. Now I see that Trump says he supports the sale of public land. They know that almost all hunters are republicans and they could give 2 shits. This is completely unforgivable in my opinion. Trump has never cared about the Republican Party, he only cares about himself and making his rich friends even richer. Unreal.

The hillbillies that think Trump gives one shat about them are just as special as the dems who said sleepy joe was playing W a full deck..

Agreed this Utard mess put together by Mike Lee is unforgivable….

That’s insane. No matter the amount of land. Good thing they dropped this bill!

It is a small win for our continued access to public lands... that Senator Lee withdrew his Federal Public Land Sale proposal from the "Big Beautiful Bill" Saturday night. But this will NOT be the last time Senator Lee or others will try and convince themselves (and the American public) that federal divestment of public lands to private or state holdings is in our best interest....

Please stay educated and vigilant on the subject.

Gents, make sure to remember who not to vote for. Such a backwards political agenda should end a career in politics

Yeah, this was always the plan. Project 2025 made it very clear this was what they wanted to do in early 2024 and Trump stated several times during the election that he supported P25. This should not be a surprise to anyone.

Trump does not give a single care in the world about hunters. He mouth-breathes things about 2FA to get that crowd to support him, but that's the last time he thinks of them at all. I get shouted down for saying this but I will say it again - Trump cares about only three things in this world: money, power, and himself.
