As you wish. Why, did you end up needing
4 spares?

If so, I’m gonna go with the statistics and say you probably deserved it.

The statistics show that it is usually for nothing more than having nonresident license plates or possibly even Idaho 1A plates.

Nonetheless, only the lowest life forms vandalize private property.

I like this plan. Shoot a buck you’re proud to put your tag on. Cant put in for the controlled hunt next year. Try with a bow or hunt with a rifle in the genny. Lets see what happens!

You’re unhinged dude, go get some fresh mountain air.
Unhinged and incorrect are not mutually exclusive.

In case you’re wondering, that list wasn’t made up and half of it has been seen just these past 2 weeks.

If you count the retards that drive along the canal banks and shoot ducks out the window of their truck, that would round out my last month in the outdoors.

One of two things is likely. Either some of you people are exactly like I described in the above list, or you aren’t in the outdoors enough to encounter them.

In response to the helicopter, they have tail numbers and if you had a phone scope and recorded it, fish and game or the FAA may be interested as it is A. Easy to see who was doing it and B. The helicopter could be siezed and if your theory is correct, would be a big pay day for fish and game.

I have seen 4wheelers down closed roads and sxs where they aren’t supposed to be, I guess requiring license plates the same size as we have on our vehicles would help mitigate that. Unless we add more fish and game officers then enforcement will always be weak as they can’t be everywhere all the time.
There are entire units in Idaho - some of which are the size of small states - that haven’t had enforcement agents assigned to them for years. YEARS.

IDFG made $14 million dollars in about 48 hours this year being the WalMart of the west for out of state hunting.

Our game commission doesn’t even present the APPEARANCE of enforcement or offer enough coverage to even remotely cause idiots to think twice before doing stupid shit. They don’t have to be everywhere- but they have to at least be SOMEWHERE and we aren’t getting that.

These people are in charge of protecting our resources and they aren’t.

If this was a priority, we would know it. Trust me, it is not.

Like anything, eventually people draw the line and I predict we are going to hear more instances of people saying “enough is enough” and taking matters into their own hands to present a deterrent.

I’m simply saying it wouldn’t bother me if the prospect of seeing retribution for doing douchey shit like I’ve seen is enough to make you think twice and not do it - then……

On the life-form ladder, where do the people who vandalize public property fit?

Higher or lower?

I hunt Idaho and Colorado regularly.

I run into a Colorado game warden Atleast once per hunt season. It’s not unusual to be checked 2-3 times a year if I have multiple tags.

I’ve had 10 Idaho tags since 2012. I’ve yet to even see a game warden or their truck. Do they exist? I’m sure more Idaho game gets poached than we can even fathom with that kind of oversight.

The reality is- I would be willing to wager that if the units in the attached letter weren’t infested with hunters exhibiting poor behavior- there wouldn’t be the need to try and limit the numbers as suggested.

However, I can’t disagree with the petitions suggestions because I know all too well the impact of a surge of hunters - which coincides with a surge in douchey hunter behavior that is multiplied by a complete lack of enforcement that simply eggs it on.

*disclaimer. I am not Matt Rinella or involved, related or part of the hunt quietly podcast. I simply support the #huntquietly ethic…

Yes, they just only care about CWD. If you're not hunting an area that borders a CWD state or a unit that has produced a positive sample, you won't see them.

Just so everyone knows, if you observe illegal behavior by hunters, you can report it to the local sheriffs office. I’ve been checked by a sheriff before when hunting a wma, they are law enforcement and they can and will enforce the laws.

There are lots of guys that ride who don’t hunt. The woods don’t strictly belong to hunters. If it weren’t for trail riders, a pile of those trails would be overgrown and loaded with dead fall.
There are plenty of people who enjoy the woods that don't hunt... Does that mean every road should be open during hunting season? I don't think so.

In wooded areas with cover, deer and elk are affected very little by trail riders. I have had deer and elk within 50 yards and both of us about 200 yards from a trail. Dirt bikes and Rzrs go flying by, and the animals don't even react. My experience is that Labor Day weekend is a great time to wheel up a 1 or 2 track trail, park, and hike in to hunt. The riders keep a lot of the hunters home, and they have not interfered with my hunts.

Now, winter range with snow, herds of animals, and open ground is another story. Those animals will push and are vulnerable.

Only IF they stay on the trails. Many do not.

Especially if they are hunters.

Unless you're out in the desert, you're not going to be able to get very far without a trail, and even then, it's only a matter of time until a flat tire is had. . . by rocks, debris, brush, etc., not vandalism.

So, does that mean if a hunter is in an area that doesn’t give them a flat tire as a natural consequence of going off trail, then it’s ok for people to arrange said flat tire as a consequence of going off trail?

Seems only equitable. I like the way you’re thinking about it.

If you don’t like hunting around motorcycle trails, find a new spot.
This post is about what Fish and Game could do to improve the health of deer herds in units 43,48,and 49.
In my opinion the deer herds would benefit from closing dirt bike trails to motorized vehicles during hunting season...
I never said if I did like it or didn't like it...
I use a dirt bike to hunt from occasionally.
I just think the animals would do better (obviously) if they were closed during the season.
It's obvious to me that Idaho No Fish and No Game does not care about our herds, they want just enough to sell tags, so they can buy their new trucks every year.
There are plenty of things they could try to offer more oppurtunity with fewer kills. Trad bow season, more conventional archery seasons, more muzzleloader, more short range weapon seasons etc. Then maybe take these deer seasons from from the end of October to the 24th. If you didn't kill one then get your bow ready.

There are plenty of things fish and game could do to offer oppurtunity and still give the animals a better chance. Unfortunately that would take someone who genuinely cared about both which they do not.
