I have started weighing barrels to add to our store listings, eventually. Here they are for now and I will update it for easy comparison of prefit barrel weights with different contours and fluting.

That posted out of format. What are the weights of the hybrid fluted 6mm CM?

Can anyone offer a synopsis or comparison of the lighter contour options? For example how does #1 sporter compare to "lite" contour? Is lite the same as factory lite? how much heavier is the hybrid lite? does one of the above pencil contours still weigh less than a fluted hybrid contour? it's definitely $100 cheaper...I have no issue with 1/2 x 28 threads especially in .22 cal and using an adapter if necessary to keep the weight of the barrel down.

Preferred lite is the factory contour for Tikka Lite. It is the lightest contour between the ones listed. The Hybrid Lite is just a bit bigger because it has less taper.

The #1 is a bit bigger than the Hybrid Lite. See the Howa barrel nut versions.

Lite and hybrid lite are only available for the Tikka, as far as I know.

From Hybrid Lite 16” to 20” it’s about 1 ounce more per inch. And, fluting reduces an 16” barrel about 3 ounces and, and every inch beyond that reduces the weight less than one ounce.

The Lite is the best budget/weight choice if you don’t care about thread size

The -Lite- fluted with 12” helical will be the lightest. You will save less weight with fluting than the hybrid Lite because fluting isn’t as deep. I have never done it but my guess would be a couple of ounces savings on a 16” barrel, and every inch beyond that might get half an ounce or less because of the taper.
