If you have a large photo shop near you, check out the camera bags. After all, they're designed to carry and protect camera equipment that costs a heckuva lot more than most firearms. And to, as comfortably as possible, carry heavy bodies and lenses. I "transitioned" a used shoulder bag (LowePro, forget model) to be my range bag. The dividers are adjustable (Velcro). I can put three pistols w/o rugs (camera bag, right, no need for more padding) in it, plus a couple of hundred rounds of 9mm and .22LR. Ear muffs clip onto outside with carabiners and small pockets hold odds and ends (microfiber cloth rag, disposable ear plugs, extra mags, spare batteries for red dots, sight adjusting tools, etc). If you're really lucky, there might be an established, independent camera store nearby, that sells pro-level and consumer equipment. Amazing what some of those accumulate in used bags, tripods, heads, etc., that can be used for shooting.
"New" is fine too, just pricey. Again, LowePro, Think Tank, etc.
