This is only a cell-phone pic, sorry it's not better quality. But this dove hen (called a hen?) has nested in one of our hanging ferns on the front porch, and is incredibly tolerant of me. This pic was taken holding the phone less than 12" from her. She's been sitting on two eggs for about 8 or 9 days now. She will even let me water the fern with a watering can while she's in it. Last weekend she never left the nest the whole time I was removing, repainting and rehanging the shutters right beside her. Guess she's either very brave or just plain trusts me

I know, me too...I tried to make it happen that day, but just not able to pull it off with the time that I had. It wasn't planned to be a fishing trip, so my fly rod was back in Alaska.

Gives me a good excuse to go back...LOL!

As an insurance adjuster in the Midwest summers are tough… sometimes it’s worth taking an evening off. I was able to catch this of the boys while shore fishing…just a reminder to enjoy the things that are truly important in life!
