Chased turkeys last night and this morning. Saw two, but those bastards are sneaky. Coyotes on our island mean that gobblers don't gobble, and they run from calling. I put a long sneak on and got in position to intercept two Toms feeding along the woodline, but they moved faster than I did. When I stepped out, they were far to the left and flew into the trees. I had better luck sneaking up on deer, which I did for remainder of the evening.
The old accurange reticle actually works pretty well. They where about 50 yards shy of 400 and the two bars bracketed the doe from back to belly and showed 350.
With nearly two-feet of snow still in parts of our yard, I've been looking at pictures of prior remote 10-day floats that are already scheduled in just a few months down the road...can't wait!
