My wife and I drew an expected either sex elk tag and she drew a pronghorn tag with only 3 points. I never have luck in the random draw so I’m glad she does LOL

That’s ok though, I am happy with my otc tags and I am a go big or go home guy with controlled hunts, there are very, very few tags I’d rather have than my roosie bow tag and blacktail rifle tag

A premium tag or goat or sheep tag are never expected, but I will keep trying, because I never have won anything, so I figured I must be saving up my luck for a surprise tag someday

Buddy and I drew bull tags a year earlier than expected... same area we hope to hunt mule deer next year, so a good scouting opportunity. Also daughter drew her first youth cow tag. Should be a fun year!

Must be a resident! All the points I built as a resident, now that I’m NR, feels wasted as I have virtually no chance in many areas I had hoped to hunt. Bummer. I will keep applying and building chance on the slim chance I become a resident again and cash in points…wishful thinking!

A friend’s son (super good kid) drew a really cool youth blacktail tag, and I will be going with them, just a few tags are given and he has access to a lot of land with some really good bucks in the area, so that is something to be excited about after all of my hunts.

He has potential to have another really good year. I gave him my prime this winter because he wants to start archery hunting and lives on a property that has elk on it a lot. I thought last year was going to be hard to beat, he killed a nice buck and bull, but this year has some really good potential, and there are a lot of bulls in the herd that hangs out in their neighborhood.

Cool to see deserving kids get good opportunities

Drew an archery elk tag in a new to me unit on the east side, trying a new thing this year. No goat, sheep or premium tags again this year, point savers for everything else.
