Very nice rifle, the reason I ask is a few years ago I was in a pawn shop and there was a Remingtom O3A4 with a M-84 scope, correct bases and rings on it the rifle is complete military with the exception of a Bishop heavy walnut stock on it, I am sure it is original military work. The rifle is a tack driver. Now here is the sweet part ask the shop owner how much and I walked out with my wallet 175 dollars lighter, and a proud owner of a O3A4 I would really like to post pics but I am kind of dumb with the modern techno stuff. Would not even begin to know how to get the pic from the cell phone to the computer and then on to the site. Interesting on the Carlos refrence I was scouted for Marine scout sniper school but I shoot left handed, once the Col. discovered that who was scouting for shooters would not touch me.

Very familiar with the 1903A4.
I shoot one at Camp Perry in the Vintage Sniper competition. I can't fathom seeing one in a pawn shop, let alone snagging it for a song.
I became enamored with Carlos Hathcock and Chuck Mawhinney and their exploits in combat. I had to have an M40. Every thing else feel into place with the correct serial numbered rifle etc.

We medaled last year. Hope to do the same this August 😉
