Also July POW Island. The humpbacks were thick there this year. Never saw one last year, same week, and this year we couldn't get away from them. One pair scared the hell out of us they blew so close to the boat. Like 10 feet close. And we saw one bowhead, but I was too slow on the shutter to get him on digital negative. The bowhead was a surprise, and the first that I've seen, although, I am hardly a whale watching aficionado.
