Going on my first backcountry hunt this year and wondering what opinions are on the peak refuel meals from anyone that's been around the block with dehydrated food. I'm new to all of it. Thanks!

^^^ Me too, I really enjoyed the couple I've tried. Alpine Aire makes some good meals too.
The only Mountain House I like is beef stroganoff.

The breakfast scramble is awesome, but have a second person there to share it with, it's a huge serving

I used them last year, definitely better than mountain house in both taste and ingredients.

I liked the couple I have tried and still have a breakfast skillet that I have. I’m going to order more for this season so I’ll be using peak refuel and alpine aire.

I've tried the chicken alfredo, sweet pork and rice, and the breakfast scramble. All 3 were delicious. Like eat them at home as bachelor food and still enjoy it thoroughly type of delicious.

As previously mentioned, the breakfast scramble is pretty big, so I eat about half of it, seal it up and finish it later on. That makes it cover my breakfast and first snack for the day out of the single package.

I'm not a fan of sweet pork as a rule. Their other flavors are all home runs in my book. Much lower sodium content compared to mtn house which will help your system especially after the 3rd day in the backcountry.

They have some decent discounts if you get on their email list. I purchased one of their buckets full of meals for this year

Whole different level above mountain House in my opinion. In both taste and nutritional value. I had all flavors they make on my last hunt. None of them were bad but chicken Alfredo was my least favorite. Sweet pork and beef marinara were my favorite. Both breakfasts were great. I will never buy MH again as long as they make this stuff.
(No I don't work for them)

I'd also highly suggest next mile meals. They are super good and low carb, which I like. Just ate four days worth in the backcountry and ordered more for next time. Also, they are running a 10% off sale when you bundle 6 meals. Still expensive, but I feel worth it.

I tried a couple meals, they were awesome!! I ended up dropping a few hundred on a stash of them at a hunt expo.

Not only is the taste superior, but take a look at the ingredients and compare them to mountain house. They also use real meat in their recipes.

I'll have to check those out as well. Never heard of them before.

If you listen to podcasts, listen to the backcountry rookies, eating keto in the backcountry with Jessie Greger.
Also, go buy the sampler pack to try them all, they are all great.
