I use PP a lot but if not on an eBay purchase I never put anything in the notes and request the same from buyers.
I LOVE USING THEM AND NOT GIVE THEM A DIME.....

Venmo is also PayPal without buyer and seller protection. Don’t use Venmo for any transaction that you don’t know the buyer or seller.

I nearly got screwed out of a $1500 mountain bike when I Venmo’d the seller and the seller had issues delivering the bike.

I think bitcoin is my new preferred method. Hard to get screwed using crypto.

At the risk of sounding like an ignorant Canadian, and possibly starting a shite storm. I am genuinely curious, I keep seeing people throw around the 2nd Amendment rights of a citizen, as a reason to be pissed at PayPal. But isnt it PayPal's right to freedom of speech and expression that allows them to say they dont want to be involved in firearms transactions? They are pretty clear about that in their Policies, they dont appear to be trying to dupe anyone.

So at what point does one Right trump another Right.

Trust me, I'm not anti-gun. I'm genuinely curious. We are dealing with politicians up here that are way more anti gun then what you have to deal with.

Exactly. They have the right to not do business with anything related to guns. It’s stated in their terms of use. I don’t agree with their stance on guns but it’s their right. That’s why I don’t pay for or accept payment for a gun using PayPal.

I don't think anyone here is advocating taking away Paypal's rights. We're just advocating taking our business elsewhere and boycotting them. They have a right to refuse firearms transactions and we have a right to be angry about it and use something else. Being angry at somebody and avoiding them doesn't trump their rights.

Unfortunately, I have to hand it to Paypal, they are so useful and secure that there aren't many competitive alternatives and we're sort of trapped if we want the convenience.

Paypal sucks as a company. BUT for 99% of purchases, they are legit and do protect you as a buyer and seller.

That's what "US MODs" are saying.

Don't be a dumb ass and use them for something they are clearly looking for.
Yeah what he said
