So, basically what I said is correct and the people who criticized what I said were wrong and should be called out on that.
I agree this certainly can happen to anyone at anytime.
Zap, I think you are a very reasonable person, but in my mind I think the way you said it was incorrect.
You are correct, firearms safety clearly didn't save this guys life. We don't know what level anyone had of firearms safety, you would assume some, but in my state at their age, they could hold a hunting license without basic hunter safety.
So my point being, I think your statement would sit better if it was viewed as failing to follow what they have been taught (hopefully) is the issue. Not that the fact basic firearm handling instructions doesn't save lives.
The point is, basic firearm safety would have saved his life.
Condoms save a lot of headache too, just unfortunately, it seems like people really phuck up some basic things.
This seems like a grammar argument when it should be, as responsible gun owners, that we shouldn't tolerate any amount of negligence in gun handling. That's an issue that can effect us and those around us.
