I was wondering what you guys do for storing your guns while cruising thru the woods. We usually have three guys and four guns (one shotgun for grouse). I am wanting to look at options for securely storing the drivers gun that usually ends up sliding under the seat or gets stuff tossed over it neither is ideal.

Also was curious if anyone had a good option for keeping a gun from getting banged up in the front seat rather than just wedged between the seat which doesn’t work very good with a scope that has larger knobs.

These are a couple options I am looking at.IMG_4317.jpegIMG_4316.jpeg

I don't have a great suggestion for you. My .02 is your are worrying about alright you don't needto worry about. Been doing it all my life and I've just never had a problem at all.

You’ve clearly never left your gun in the truck while my uncle just turns the truck around hitting bumps at Mach 40 sending your gun into the ceiling and then the floor. This isn’t a problem for me but my old man likes to leave his gun in the truck if I have mine out and then his gets scratched up for no reason.

Now before I get some answer saying just have him take it out, or that’s the price you pay for leaving it behind, or some other rational argument. These have all been had with them and this is an attempt to preserve some cool older guns from getting abused for no reason.

Tangential, but back in my day, just about every pickup truck in the parking lot at my rural Missouri high school had a rear-window gun rack with rifles or shotguns in it. As soon as classes were out, off we'd go to the field. That was late 1960's though. How times have changed.

We still did that in 1999, it stopped in 2000, school made a new policy post Columbine.

On to the question of how I carry guns in the truck its most commonly in the rack in a decked drawer. Sometimes in a soft case in the back seat (not for 4 guys and 3 guns though). Added in a mtn tac case this year which hangs from the back of the front seat though seems to be only good for 1 scoped rifle so still not quite right for your needs.

Graduated in 2010. We just stuck the gun behind back seats.

Rydr industries might have an option for you, OP.

I keep them in the bed of the truck in a case. Either soft or hard case, no preference. If the backseat is open I might just toss them in there, but not often.

I like the vertical holder, but I’ll bet the butt needs something to keep them in place.

In my 20s and 30s this kind of vertical rack worked great in old-school jeeps driving off road, so an updated version should work just as well.
