What are the softest-shooting 20ga autoloaders for upland hunting?

Any 20 semi, even the inertia driven, is gonna be less than a 6 lb 12 guage.

Get a sxs 28 and stick with 5/8 or 7/8 oz loads. Especially over pointing dogs you will have plenty of shotgun and not a lot of recoil.

The a400 and a300’s are both great options for light recoiling 20 gauge’s. The biggest thing to consider is what shells you are shooting. For example, if you try to compensate the smaller gauge by shooting a heavier load, you won’t see a huge difference in recoil. Since I purchased my 20ga 10 years ago I haven’t shot my 12’s more than a handful of times. Never have I felt under-gunned because I was shooting a 3/4 oz. or 7/8 oz. load.
