Anyone else have a difficult time with OnX lately?

All five of us in MT this week were cussing it daily. Constantly freezing and crashing, both with airplane mode on and off. It was seriously frustrating.

Just saw an update prompt pop up that wasn’t there before we left. Hopefully that fixes whatever the issue was, but man was it frustrating.

Sucks on my work computer also. Sometimes it’s just a plain map, can’t get contour lines or names of anything to load.

Haven’t had crashing but noticed the last few months that I had to manually choose “use offline maps only” where before it would switch automatically when I was outside of cel coverage (iOS)

I had the same problem this rifle season and almost got lost haha. Old timer gave me some advice to shoot an azimuth of my camp site for a worst case scenario. That helped a lot. I downloaded offline maps on Apple Maps so I didn't get lost but OnX started working again the next day. Maybe an update or something threw off the app.

Take this for what it is worth, because obviously 2 different beasts. I was having issues with basemap crashing last year, it essentially came down to me having too many layers running. They suggested I run 10 or less layers at a time, I think I was running about 25 or so. Like I said not sure this applies to OnX but may be worth a shot

There also has been some issues with internet servers worldwide. So it could be because of that as well.

Yes I have recently had problems with my app while offline. Two or three days into the hunt all the features of the app quit working for me. So no making waypoint, no waypoint would show up. my offline maps loaded but nothing else.
I am very disappoint when you pay for a service that is suppose to work off line and it fails at the time of use

Does anyone know how to contact Onx other than the AI support chat ?

ive had issue with it recently as well, on the phone app, both on and offline. its frozen up several times the last few weeks, most recently last weekend for about 4 hours. luckily it was an area I'm familiar with, and I had already cut the trail I was going to use to get out. but I certainly wasn't thrilled about it.

I've had issues with pins showing up on my phone, but if I switch to airplane mode they pop right up.
Full hard reboot is worth a try.

If you have no service it should still use the downloaded maps.

That slider is a feature I personally (and I'm sure others too) contacted them about, if you flip that onx shouldn't try to switch back to cellular mode maps till you flip it back. Before as you used your phone over the day, it came in/out of service, plugged into carplay, etc. it'd start trying to use cellular mapping repeatedly. Which I found annoying when I had already downloaded the maps for the hunt. Waste of data (if limited) and slow loading in areas with poor coverage (and as noted the maps were already in the phone).

I just got back from a week in the woods, my Onx would always restart every time I unlocked my phone. Once it reopened it was good until I locked my phone. All was on downloaded maps and no service. Didn’t cause any issues just annoying when your fingers are freezing.
